I haven't seen too much of the player at all - and for what it's worth, I've payed little attention to him when he was on the pitch... but what I saw wasn't particularly impressive.

I would also like to put forward the slightly twisted point of view that we're almost looking for a second/third choice CM. I know my thought process is a little twisted, and I probably didn't word that properly, but...

... while Claudio and Melo should be starting, I never, ever want to see Melo and Sissoko paired together again. Ever. It's just so ugly... Momo especially. Which means we badly need some quality behind Marchisio, even more so because he hasn't proven to be incredibly durable...

We definitely need someone with good distribution skills, so that Diego has more opportunities to stay upfield, and wreak havoc...
Agreed on all counts. A Sissoko - Melo partnership lacks invention, creativity and imagination. Neither are particularly capable of passing the ball around either. In that sense, Juve do need a player that can at least pass the ball as a second choice to Marchisio.

Worst case scenario Tiago could be that player.

Brighi may be a decent player. But shit, we don't need any more decent players. We are very thin on class and our signings should be ones that improve us or add depth to areas that are strong.

True, which is why instead of buying both Pepe and Martinez, you guys should have pooled the money together and bought yourselves a proper winger.

Definitely not a fan of the player, I certainly don't want to see him at the club next year, but I must say, I do believe he has far more quality than he's shown in his time at Juventus. You're right buddy... until he's sold, and with those wages...

It would just be so sad to see Tiago in this lineup again... the player does seem to have the club bent over an oil drum, behind the woodshed though...

Anyway, I'm going to refuse to further consider the notion. Tonight, I'll certainly be remembering to prey to the gods of football for his sale...

We have only paid 2.5M for Pepe so far though... wait a minute... plus 12M for Martinez, equals 14.5M for Krasic...

:depressed

Anyway, I'm holding out hope that Martinez will bring some quality... that's not really based on anything though. He doesn't really have the pace that I would envision for this system, and I hope he's ready to track back, because our fullbacks are sketchy...

More just blind optimism on my part... trying to reserve judgement...

Yes! Is Ozil really available for how cheap they say? Geez, what a signing that could have been.
I don't think Werder intend to sell Ozil at all. I think they prefer to keep him this season as they have rebuffed many an offer(reportedly Real and Barcelona) despite the fact that that means Ozil will go for free next summer.

Pepe was only 2.5M? Wow, then that isn't a bad signing at all. Martinez on the other hand for 12.5? A little too steep for a player that will most likely be warming the bench, no?

Yeah, we paid 2.5M to loan Pepe this season, and if we want to purchase the player at seasons end, it will cost an additional 7.5M euros. Not a terrible move... same structure as Motta's 500K loan, with the option to buy set at 4.5M.

As for Martinez, if he turns out to be a bench player - which it seems like he's destined to right now... time will tell - than 12.5M is a very poor price, indeed. Especially given the current lineup.

Pepe's price wasn't bad, but in a 4-4-2 the wingers are supposed to be, you know, skillful.

Wait, Pepe is only on loan?
Yup, he's on loan.

Yep, with option to buy. Not a bad deal... if we needed labourers and not class.
Well, in fairness, for this season we needed a bit of both. It's pretty hard to bring in 4 new wingers in one mercato, and have them all be class.

Of course, it would be nice if at least one, or even two of them were class.

He doesn't need to be world class, just have the ability to dribble, pass the ball forward and cross.

Well hopefully he busts his ass this season, surprises a few of us, we qualify for CL, and maybe even win a trophy. Then, during next summer's Mercato, when we're flush with cash and ready to open the new Stadium with a bang, he can quietly make his way back to Udinese.

We paid 2.5m for Pepe, 500k for Motta, and Martinez was bought 12m but with 4 installment (or 3) which means if we pay the same amount each year, we just paid 3m this year.. Also for 15.5m on Bonucci we pay like 2m to Genoa and 3-4m to Bari because we just sell them Almiron that we bought back the half again..

I don't think CSKA allow us to pay 18m for Krasic with like 4 installments or so.. So for now Marotta is doing what he can do and think best for us because he also need to get rid some Secco's work that causing mess in Juve's wage bill.. That's why he want to sell first before buy like sell Tiago then buy new CM, sell Grosso then buy new LB, sell Camo then buy new LW/RW, or even sell IQ/Trez to buy forward.. And i don't believe any news about we have big transfer budget because so far Marotta spend the budget wisely
