Is it only Guardiola who opted to bench/not call Maxwell or was it him, Mou and Dunga who did just that. They must all be idiots as he's a quality player :agree

I agree.
Maxwell is better then Clichy, De Ceglie, Grosso and Criscito so I think it would be smart business to sign him at a reasonable price then over spend for Clichy or someone. Ibra also was at points not a starter at Barca but because Amauri started here at Juve is he better?

Giovinco-Clichy

Rafa Marquez

:sergio:
I had enough read about all Clichy rumor. I don't know what we are looking on him. Yes, he has amazing pace and tireless run, but he is so error prone.. So it's like we have another Molinaro in our team..

Also, he won't come cheap because he is from Arsenal or EPL who overvalued their player.. Why don't we just looking for Tremoullinas rather than Clichy if Marotta want an attacking LB. I read that Bordeaux also need money

Clichy would be an upgrade to what we have now, but i really think the club needs to dig deep and find a left back that wont cost a lot. We have Motta and Bonucci who have come in, if we can just find a left back without breaking the budget too much, it gives us the opportunity to spend more on a striker, a midfielder and a winger.

As for Barca, will be interesting to see what happens with them and the financial situation...someone mentioned Hleb, now he wouldnt be a bad option is Krasic didnt join.

There is a long way to go still...i am hoping the club starts offloading a lot of the dead weight....there is so many players who should be leaving this summer.

I want 2 new strikers, and sell 2 old ones.

Dzeko and Aguero are the dream.
Benzema and G. Rossi are very good.
Cassano and Pazzini are more realistic.

He's by no means better than Clichy and I don't rate the later that high but he certainly is a better LB than your Max will ever dream to be. And I certainly didn't favor a player over the other just because he's starting in his team while the other is bench warming in his own. But to rate a player as "quality" while he hasn't been able to get a starting spot for more than two seasons now while changing clubs and being ignored by his NT, is ridiculous to say the least.

lol, JBF, lol.

Diego has been ignored by Brazil
Ronaldinho has been ignored by Brazil.
Javier Zaneti has been ignored by Argentina.
Esteban Cambiasso has been ignored by Argentina.

the list goes on and on...

and Maxwell made more appearances in his last Serie A season than Chivu or Santon, and Abidal in Barcelona...it was the excellent form of Gabriel Milito which forced the change, Guardiola shifted Puyol to LB.

You sure about that? In the case that's in fact true Im sure it's down to the injury of Chivu and the problems Mou had with Santon in the last parts of that season. Not to anything else. And by all means I was pointing out to several managers giving him the bench role not by any case saying that anyone of them is a perfection of a manager but rather saying that they must know more than both me and you do, and when it's 3 managers Im sure you get the picture.

Oh and TBH, I still didn't get why you rate the guy so high, what have you seen of him that impressed you so much? His Siena days maybe?

how old is busquets? and whats his potential

and we complain about gio not getting enough time :sergio:

Busquets is 21, and i think he has realised his potential, he's rather good at winning the ball back, he's a clever player that knows his limitations, which is why he almost never loses the ball. He's good enough to be starting for the Spanish NT, and while i rate Yaya higher than Sergi, i think if we overlook the fact that they have Yaya on the bench, he's also good enough for Barcelona.

because he's a very balanced player, good both in defense and attack...he may not be spectacular, but he will not let you down either...very, very underrated.
