Benfica have reportedly reached an agreement with Bayern Munich for the transfer of Fabio Coentrao according to Spanish publication AS.
The 22-year-old midfielder had been linked with a host of European clubs, including Real Madrid and Juventus and the Portuguese giants were understood to have already rejected a bid in the region of €15 million from the Bavarian outfit just a fortnight ago.
It now appears however that the Bundesliga giants are in the driving seat among his list of suitors but as yet they are yet to reach an agreement with the player, even though he is understood to prefer a move to Italy or Spain.
When asked about his future after Portugal's scoreless draw with Brazil at the World Cup in South Africa, Coentrao was tight-lipped.
"'I now think only of the national team and having a good World Cup," he responded.
