Stuttgart manager at the start of the season fucked everything up from the league to the CL. The players weren't to be blamed but once the new manager came the whole team improved and results started to come, great ones with almost the same old players that started the campaign. And Hleb was one of those who improved a great deal after the managerial change, he may not have had the best of seasons there but by all means he didn't have a disappointing one either.
Improved a great deal?Wow.More like he sucked less after they hired Gross.Still a disappointing season,no doubt.

According to that logic we should only buy flops? Sneijder could be regarded as a flop, but not Lucio and Pandev imo.

We bought Nedved, Buffon, Emerson, Baggio, Vialli, Viera and probably more that were all proven players. Who is to say Vargas can't up step up another level? Why is Krasic a bigger prospect than Vargas? (he is only 1 year younger). I think 25 for Vargas is too much, but around 20 i'd go for it.

I don't completely agree that we buy talens and make them world class. I can only mention Zidane and Zlatan as recent examples of that. And they were very proven in minor leagues before coming to juve. We buy proven players, and hope they can keep their form and step up a notch when needed.

I think Vargas fits the description of a lot of players, we have succeeded with in the past.
Good post..

Btw. Zlatan was not "only" a talent when we got him.. He was very good already imo.

Hleb just returned to Barcelona. I've always seen him as a quality player. With Villa, Pedro, Ibra, Messi and all the other guys, there probably won't be any room for him. We should go for him. He probably wouldn't cost that much either.
Agree, if we can come cheap. Let's bring him, he won't get any place either in Barca. At least he can be a good back up for LW. Don't forget that Mourinho wants him first at Inter in the Ibra-Eto'o deal which Hleb refused later, and choose to play in his past club Stuttgart. Mourinho must see that Hleb has some skills and capability to play in Serie A.

Hleb played a very very minor role in Stuttgarts good second half of the season.

Benzema
(IQ, Immobile)
Giovinco - Diego - ?????
(Candreva, Del Peiro, Iago)
Marchisio - Melo
(Ekdal, Marrone, Sissoko)
Criscito - Chiellini - Kjaer - Caceres
(De Ceglie - Ariaudo - Legro - M.Motta)
Buffon
(Manni)

Out: Amauri, Trez, Camoranesi, Almiron, Tiago, Poulsen, Molinaro, Crosso, Zebina, Grygera, Salihamidizc.

Just can't decide a man for a RW. ;-)
I really like your formation man. Just one thing; I really hate Melo, so replace him with one of D'Agostino, Guarente, or Cigarini, and get someone else instead of Motta. That lad is pretty inconsistent and I really don't consider him an upgrade. Bonucci maybe? He can play anywhere across the defense.

Also, if possible, I'd like to have Camo as a super-sub or maybe even a reserve.

With a 4231 we wouldn't need Vargas (Giovinco on the left), and could spend the money elsewhere.

Vargas is a good player, but the prices being mentioned in the press are ridiculous. 20m is a fair offer. If the viola ask for anything more we should politely tell them to fuck off.

Esoesgallo (now ScardanelliScarpe) made a couple of HQ videos of Vargas in the past, if anyone is interested:

Watching him do well at Catania, it makes me think that we should take a shot on Jaime Valdes. When a South American shows they can do well in Serie A it's worth getting there before others do.
He's 29 we need younger players not old ones. We have enough of them already.

Valdez is 29, not Vargas.

I would like Vargas in the team along with Krasic/Sanchez. We should keep Giovinco though and have Yago as backup i think the kid deserves to be a sub in the first team. Marrone too, That kid Jamez Rodriguez could be quite useful aswell if not this season, the next one.

Get rid of one of melo/poulsen/sissoko, we probably could cash on melo or atleast use him in a swap imo, we shall keep Diego too, in a 4-2-3-1 he will show his true value.

I'm not too fond of Pazzini, Gilardino is better at poaching that is, but with krasic/vargas we should get a lot of crosses into the box so Amauri or Iaquinta will get to score more. (i hope)

Del piero as a super sub for the last 30 minutes where he can make a difference.

Buffon (C)

Cassani Kjaer Chiellini Criscito

Marchisio Sissoko/Poulsen/Candreva

(might work, altho we would lack some steel in the mid if we play Marchisio and Candreva)

Krasic/Yago Diego Vargas/Giovinco

Amauri/Iaquinta
PS. hi everyone :D
