Bring in someone who is always injuried and never stepped foot in Serie A is better than buying someone who isn't injured often and lighting up Serie A?

Money or not, Vargas being more expensive is still the smart option IMO.
Being proven in Serie A don't count for much nowadays.

I like Vargas, but to not consider him a risk with that price tag(25 mil) is completely unrealistic.

he is a complete player and a relatively cheap solution. and we have seen his potential in arsenal...
Yes, but it depends on the price, if it is less than 10M, I would agree with you. But if we start passing that, then the Vargas gap, combined with age and potential decreases.

Vargas will be next Amauri - descent player for megamoney on top of his form what never be repeated after transfer.
Quite some statement, Vargas has actually performed for 4 years in serie A now. Only bad spell was his LB deployment in Fiorentina. That cannot be remotely be compared to, say melo, who came from Almeria and had one great season in Firenze.

Performance wise, that is also better than what Amauri came with imo.

(Candreva, Del Peiro, Iago)
Marchisio - Melo
(Ekdal, Marrone, Sissoko)
Criscito - Chiellini - Kjaer - Caceres
(De Ceglie - Ariaudo - Legro - M.Motta)

Those who are doubting Vargas are harsh. He is far from being mediocre.

But, I don’t see why splash 25 million on him while we can add extra 5 and get Silva or we can keep Giovinco who is an excellent and proven winger.

Vargas is good for 15mln, not more.
We need to stop splashing money and being Real aka losers, but become the old Juve who created players himself from young talents or so-called-flops. Look to the Inter btw. Sneider, Lucio and Pander was flops and Inter got them for peanuts.

We need Vargas, or atleast someone like him.. Getting Vargas for 25 is stupid, we all agree about that. But getting Vargas for 15 M€ + someone like De Cegle is a very good deal!

For the right side of the midfield we should splash and get someone like Hazard, Silva, Krasic, Sanchez...

And Benzema on loan would be the best transfer ever!.

Hleb.....No thanks

Hleb had a very disappointing season at Stuttgart.Next.
Yea, they ended up from being 17th in the league to qualifying to the CL. While them qualifying to the knock-out round of the CL was depressing especially that they were ashamedly knocked by a poor team called Barca without even a good fight. Disappointing season indeed

You really don't know what you're talking about,do you? What's even your point?Stuttgart played a good 2nd part of the season so Hleb must have been great as well?

Poor.

According to that logic we should only buy flops? Sneijder could be regarded as a flop, but not Lucio and Pandev imo.

We bought Nedved, Buffon, Emerson, Baggio, Vialli, Viera and probably more that were all proven players. Who is to say Vargas can't up step up another level? Why is Krasic a bigger prospect than Vargas? (he is only 1 year younger). I think 25 for Vargas is too much, but around 20 i'd go for it.

I don't completely agree that we buy talens and make them world class. I can only mention Zidane and Zlatan as recent examples of that. And they were very proven in minor leagues before coming to juve. We buy proven players, and hope they can keep their form and step up a notch when needed.

I think Vargas fits the description of a lot of players, we have succeeded with in the past.

Stuttgart manager at the start of the season fucked everything up from the league to the CL. The players weren't to be blamed but once the new manager came the whole team improved and results started to come, great ones with almost the same old players that started the campaign. And Hleb was one of those who improved a great deal after the managerial change, he may not have had the best of seasons there but by all means he didn't have a disappointing one either.
