Nick, I've said before that to play a narrow midfield I think you need two things:

1. At least one very good passer deep in midfield; and

2. Top class attacking full backs.

I don't think your team has either.

Post a team up, that you think is realistic to get the players and you think would work well.

Without knowing the budget, it is hard to say.

I would be playing 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3, though, because I don't like narrow midfields.

Thats 63 Million but would be a fantastic Mercato for me.

Individually they are all good players, but we would be confined to 4321 or 4312 and if the full backs don't provide, we could very well see some of our problems from this year continue.

If you change Gourcouff for Cassano, Krasic or Di Maria :xfinger:

We could play 442, 4312; 4231(my favourite) and 4321.

He's real good in the air and has poacher qualities( pops up with goals when you least expect ) but he's more of an all around striker.. He'll be the first Mexican ever in Man U but just like all young prospects (21 yrs old) that sign up there, I doubt he'll make a major impact now.. Possibly end up being loaned out or spending his time with Vela and Dos Santos doing nothing..

Man Utd have signed him.

He's a really good all around striker, a prolific goal scorer for Chivas and most recently for the Mexico national team. But I seriously doubt he could make the same kind of impact for Manchester United, but who knows, I could be wrong.

Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi is open to offers this summer, according to his agent Andrea Pastorello.

The 23-year-old Italy international might be sold at the end of this season because of the Spanish club's financial problems.

Juventus have been linked with Rossi as they look to replace David Trezeguet who is expected to leave this summer.

Speaking to Tutto Mercato Web, Pastorello said: “I think it's right that we evaluate every opportunity that comes our way.

“Clearly if an important offer arrives for him and for Villarreal, then it will be judged.

“At the moment, there are no deals in progress. Juventus are spoken about a lot, but I believe the club has other problems to think about now.

“Moreover, the transfer market has yet to begin,” he concluded.
