Exactly, actually when you come to think of it. Benzema is even more suited to play on the wing than Gourcuff, and even he failed to make any impact in that position.

Then we should play 4321 with Gorcouff and Diego, but they both be very reluctant to drift wide, så we'd need Maicons and the likes as backs...

We should go for players who play wide, and let Diego be the playmaker(I still have faith in the guy), then we'd also have more tactical options.

We can afford to sign Gourcuff and then go after full-backs the stature of Maicon, if those even exist...

Then I'd rather go for 4231 and then deploy 4321 with Candreva, Gio or Camoranesi next to Diego when needed. We'll get new full backs, but we can't be guaranteed a consistent attacking force from them, especially because the reserves will provide none.

So we should look at Di Maria:xfinger:, Suarez, Hamsik, Krasic imo. Hazard would be a good long term option

Then we'd have something like
Suarez - Diego - Gio
Striker

Camo - Diego - Di Maria
Striker
Hamsik - Diego - Giovinco
Striker

Which all could go into a 4321, only thing is if we don't buy a left we have no real depth in that side.

according to Belgian newspapers Lille's asking price for Hazard is 22 million
it can be done but competition will be very tough
and the player himself prefers going to England or Spain

Wednesday 24 March, 2010
[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]As part of their plan to lure Cesare Prandelli to Turin in the summer, Juventus also hope to sign Fiorentina duo Alberto Gilardino and Juan Vargas.

The Bianconeri are planning on completely overhauling the current structure of the club this summer after one of the worst seasons on record.

Juventus were expected to not just challenge but win major honours after significant investment in the transfer market at the end of last season.

However, the project was effectively ripped up in January when the club sacked Ciro Ferrara after a dismal run in Serie A and elimination from both the Champions League and Coppa Italia.

Alberto Zaccheroni was brought in as a caretaker boss, but things haven't improved dramatically with Juventus still in sixth place in Serie A.

Tuttosport understands that Juventus will not offer him the job on a permanent basis in the summer and that the favourite for the post is Prandelli.

There were claims earlier this month that the Fiorentina Coach had already accepted an offer to move to Turin, although they were later denied.

However, the speculation refuses to go away and the Turin media believe Juventus are shaping their rebuilding process around Prandelli.

That means keeping Felipe Melo, the Brazilian midfielder who has flopped this season, but was effectively signed off the back of a very good year under Prandelli at Fiorentina.

It also implies that Juventus will sign players Prandelli trusts like Gilardino and Vargas, although the club's directors are also said to be certain of making an approach for Sampdoria striker Giampaolo Pazzini this summer.

Which tactics would you use with Aguero? 4231?
The ideal would be having him play in front with another forward like in a 4-3-1-2 but I'd like to see if he could work with your formation.

Gourcuff would never work on the wing, he is not versatile at all, he can only play as a playmaker behind the strikers, he can't play anywhere else.
In any case there would be overlap and player movement. Honestly, I wouldn't mind getting rid of Diego for Gourcuff or putting Diego on the left and Gio on the right:

    Diego-Gourcuff-Gio/Candreva

I just think Gourcuff would have an insane impact on our attack(much more than Diego). Diego just hasn't cut it for me this year. I would like to see Diego be able to play with someone else that can be touted as one of the best AMs. Whether a 4231 or 4321...

Either way, Gourcuff would be worth the investment.

Its OK we have Amauri. There will be plenty of competition for lackluster games and endless movement with no productivity whatsoever.

Forget about Gourcuff. We already have AMC. We need wingers who can play AMC if needed (Gio for example), not AMC who'll play winger most of time.
    I can't forget about him.:groan:

We won't be using Gio anytime soon. I bet we could get a pretty penny by selling him too or using him in a trade. Gourcuff would be a dream signing for me.

Agree completely. There's some question as to where he would be asked to play as he doesn't fit with our current formation (which is what, exactly?), but he is definitely talented enough to make it work. We would for sure have to buy at least a right back though, IMO.

Formation-wise, the 4231 like Hustini mentioned would work, provided you don't ask the left and right AM's to play like out-and-out wingers. Keep them near the center of the pitch and let them one-two the defense to death.

Or you could also run a 4-1-2-1-2:

    RB - Legro/New CB - Chiello - De Ceglie
    Melo/Sissoko
    Marchisio/Candreva- Diego
    Gourcuff
    SS - FW

This formation requires the wing backs to push up and keep possession, so Grygera will not do. Marchisio would be acting as a box to box mid, more defensive in nature, while Diego would be the playmaker. Gourcuff as trequartista. Or we could just say screw it and get Asamoah :D
