But what if that big club stopped competing for trophies and was a relegation battler every season for the past 10 years? Would you still call it a big club?
For me Aston Villa, Leeds United, Napoli, Genoa and even Bologna and Spurs are big clubs why?! because they have been around for long and certainly won trophies when others were just making steps towards hiring a pro manager!

I know you disagree but for me this is the case as I for one enjoy watching some legacy rather than money on T.V.

Foster is a poor keeper. He was absolutely shocking for United this season. Has actually become third choice in United after Kuszack due to the clownish errors he made at the start of the season.

We missed the chance to go for Hugo Loris while he was still at Nice. Now that guy is a quality keeper.

Yet he played good for the NT, I don't think he's great or anything but I bet if anyone can bring back and improve Foster then surely its Wenger thats all Im saying.

Recent form and current ability are my criteria for being a big club.

Chelsea is a big club.

A.Villa is not
What happens if Abramovich decided tomorrow that he'll sell chelsea and the new owners didn't want to invest much. Will they be considered a big club?!

Ajax is a big club, chelsea has a "rich" owner thats what this club is all about.

Once they're sold, they'll get back to garbage that they've came out from....
