Selling Chiellini and coming back with Drenthe is awful no matter how you look at it.

And Chiellini is at the very least 5 times better than any defender which has been linked to us anyway, or any defender you're mentioning there. You can talk about going out and bringing in a team, like we did with Zidane years back, but when we sold Zizou it was for record money. 30m for the worlds best CB? Hell no.

Don't you think that if we have 70m we can afford to keep Chiello and build around him because he's just so damn good?
TBH I am not sure about either. You are not far from right, but I think you misjudge the true market values here.
First selling Chiellini and coming back with Drenthe is awful indeed, if the briefcase you are carrying on the way back from Madrid is not big enough. Then Chiello is a beast, but he is certainly not 5 times those defenders and as defending is more of a team work, than attack for instance - better balance yield better results. By the same reason this season most of the mentioned players had better results of their work.
Third - 30 mils reasons for yes not enough? All right! Given the market status and the only true value of Real Madrid /being rich and showing it/ - it is quite a chance, really. 40 mils for Chiellini - well, they can afford his 5 mils-or-more salary, they have huge ad markets for him as well - and for us it will be the difference of - Benzema + Aguero + Wingers and the said defenders or Amauri/Salihamidzic in the starting line...

So it is quite an option.
For instance - Benzema + Drenthe for Chiellini?

Chiellini is 1000 times better than Bonucci + Zapata + Kjaer combined.
Are you sure he will be as motivated, if we do not increase his salary? Also if we decide to keep him and that forces us of just leaving Grosso/Grygera as a starter for a season - do you think it will be better for Juventus and Chiellini, ultimately? :shifty:

Oh boy.

Not this crap again. Selling Chiellini to fund buying more CBs, who simply aren't as good. We've been over this in the Chiellini thread many times. He's one of the players who need to stay, so we can buy others to play along side him. If we want to go places, we need to hold on to our best.

Just give him the new contract after the WC and let's cut this crap!

Wise words. It should've been the first thing on their list, if he really asked for it. It can't be all that much trouble to increase wages.

Look, I am not saying that we should sell him. But we have to build our priorities straight and from what I am seeing our priority is certainly not being 'the best', cause we are not even in the CL. All the fans want to see the good player playing in our team, but I've grown tired of listening we can't afford Aguero/Dzeko/Benzema, because ... so we'll go for Gilardino/Pazzini/Mr.X who is not that bad at all.
So if we are going to invest and go for top -> great, I love it, let's do it!
But if we are just 'holding to our best' we already know what that did to both us and our best. Chiellini does not deserve it, simply because he still has a lot of things to win... :flag1: :juventus:

IMO, there are 3 players that MUST stay here, Buffon, Chiellini and Marchisio
Maybe add Trez and DP to it, but with the agreement they will be backup more then starter. So selling Chiellini, who has proven to be among the 10 best CB's in the world for the next 5-8 years and exchanging him by players that might become good enough to get us into CL but might never be world class players like Chiellini will be, is just rediculous. We have plenty of players we can get rid of to bring us cash for reinforcements without selling the 3, IMO, highest rated players in our squad.

Chiellini for Bezema + Iguain + Marcelo - than we can talk :D
No we still can`t
Our biggest problem is the defence so we should do our best fixing it and selling the only CB who does its job and does it great is just stupid we need more of this quality
we need more A quality not replace A quality and get two B quality players
We need to aspire for this kind of defence
A-A-A-A
we currently have
F--A--C--D
F--B--B--D isn`t better
There arent many players who are on Chiellini`s level and if we have one we should do our best keeping him

I'm also quite surprised that this great club decided to sign me knowing that I won't ever pass to Amauri".

Funnily enough, we can also afford 5m+ salary. It's just spending it wisely on those who deserve it.

I'd like to sell the garbage in our team to raise funds though.

You're not wrong, defense is largely as a unit, but on many occasions this season we have seen that Chiellini by himself is that unit. And then when he has some free time, he's going forward to attack and score goals.

But with a good team defense you don't really see how good an individual is, which is why Chiello is the real deal, because he knows he has nobody covering him if he makes a mistake.

Badass' knowledge is slipping :disagree:

TMW says the deal is 10m + Grosso.

From summer to hit the market problem. And 'the strange fate of Diego, who after a vintage by unfinished could present different problems for Juventus in the negotiations. As shown to our staff, the Bianconeri have reached agreement in principle with the German Wolfsburg, but the Brazilian would learn to accept a return to the Bundesliga only if the offer were to arrive from Monaco of Bavaria, Bayern side. The only track possible for an assignment is that of Spain Atlético Madrid, perhaps in an Aguero but it seems difficult, probably because of the many impediments to the number 28 Juventus.

"can't really blame him,it's a step backwards for him to play there........but happy that we reached agreement wit Wolfsburg"
