You can't really blame Robinho for the problems he had in Madrid, lots of players don't exactly have the easiest of times there. And if the situation with him not getting a promised contract renewal and being used in a swap deal without knowing it is true, you defianetly can't blame him for wanting out.
Then the whole Man City situation was a joke as well. He needed out of Madrid and after the Chelsea deal fell through (is it true Madrid refused the transfer because Chelsea started selling Robinho jerseys before he had officially signed?) on the last day, City were really the only ones who could afford to make a bid at that stage.
They then had him on a ridiculous wage compared to the other players, and from I've read afforded him many privileges which made his teammates jealous of his situation and the way he was treated.
So, yes he's had his problems, but theres a very good chance, considering both situations, that it wasn't fault, for the most part at least. The more I think about it, the more I'd like to see him playing here, especially if he can link up with Diego well.
One thing I did notice though was that his form seemed to drop around the winter months, during the 08-09 season at least. It might have just been coincidence, but how cold does it get in Turin?
