Di Marzio on Sky this evening:-

80 Million is spread over 3 years not one summer.

Benitez want's his contract paying up at Liverpool, we will not do that.

Pazzini is favourite but were looking at Dzeko also, Ziegler were looking at and Palladino will come back next year.

That makes for depressing reading to be honest.

80 million over 3 years? So basically around 25 million for this mercato? That is less than last summer. And here I thought we were about to go thru a revolution.

Ah, hopefully this is just BS. Honestly, 25 million next summer is embarrassing and won't give us shit.

Best advice. Wait and see. I'm sure we'll spend big aswell as others here think the same. I just posted the info for people to look at.

On another note, Mascherano has stalled with his contract renewal. :shifty:

Yeah probably just BS. Last mercato they spent over 50 million and they weren't even talking about a revolution. I think our board are already aware of the fact that it will take a lot more than 25 million to fix our shit team and get the fans back on their side.

Don't forget to add sales, which is roughly 30m. 55m is nothing to laugh at.

Our squad massively underperformed this season. As weak as it may appear, on paper, it it not inferior to any of the teams ahead of us in the table (minus Inter), and none of these teams (minus Inter) will have 55m this summer.

- 15m can land us a good cb (Kjaer, Mexes, Tasci, Bonucci, etc).
- 15m can land us a good lb (or Palladino + cash for Criscito and use the money elsewhere)
- extend Caceres loan
- Splash the remaining 25m on a Camo replacement (more than enough to sign a quality replacement)

Yes we need quality in other positions as well, but a cb, 2 fb's and a Camo replacement are the priority positions, imo. I'm confident Rafa can get more out of our squad so players like Amauri, Melo, Poulsen, Diego, IQ, etc begin to offer us something more.

We should go after robinho before the world cup while his price is low. A world class coach can bring him back to life. He can fill in as a winger or a second striker and he shouldnt cost us a fortune when compared to his quality. City could make use of some our lovely players like melo & Amauri in a part exchange deal.

I'd also snatch Stephen Ireland before he hits back to top form.

diego already tried to convince robinho to Juve before he went to santos, and said something along the lines of rather go fishing than play for Juve, anyhow no thanks his ego has no place in our squad.

as for Ireland, we have marchisio thanks.

Last year Stephen was brilliant and he is a very young talent. He can play as a central or an attacking midfielder. His passing vision is great too. I'd take him while he is still a bench warmer.
