Juve target Benzema and Gourcuff Saturday 10 April, 2010

Juventus are looking towards France to rebuild with bids for Yoann Gourcuff and Karim Benzema.

The Bianconeri will revolutionise the squad after the failure of this season and are already making plans for the future.

According to Tuttosport newspaper, David Trezeguet is one of several stars expected to leave in the summer.

The quotient of French players will remain healthy, though, as they are targeting Benzema as a replacement.

Benzema joined Real Madrid for £30m, but has struggled to make an impact and dropped behind Gonzalo Higuain in the pecking order.

The 22-year-old could even be available on a loan deal so that he can rediscover the form that made him a hero at Olympique Lyonnais.

Juventus are also targeting a more familiar face to Serie A shores, as Gourcuff has been a sensation for Bordeaux.

He flopped at Milan when played out of position, but is living up to his nickname of 'Petit Zidane’ in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.

Creative midfielder Gourcuff has a £22m buy-out clause on his contract and is also attracting interest from other top sides around Europe.

:D

@Fred: I'm not a fan of the 4312...I would rather use him next to Diego in a 4321, but if its going to be the 4312 next season then there is no point.

@Hustini, Don't you think the fullback positions, a Cb and to a lesser extent a striker is much more needed than a central attacking midfielder??

No I just would love the day when I see Milan fans crying when Gourcuff tears Serie A up :p
Well in all fairness to Milan and Ancellotti, with Kaka in their team at the time, it was always going to be hard to give Gourcuff playing time in his favored position.

Say we have 80 million to spend, we could afford the lot.

Kjaer-15 Million
Rafinha-8 Million
Tremoulinas-15 Million
Gourcuff-25 Million
Benzema-25 Million

Thats 88 million but I'm sure we could stump up an extra 8 Million.

Woah, do you really have 80M to spend??

don't forget the wages btw, players like Gourcuff and Benzema are bound to ask for huge wages, especially the latter.

Meh, I'm just judging off Media speculation, I don't think we will have that to spend but this is called a 'Wish' list for something. :D

Also the players we offload Fred would free up wages. ;)

if we're spening 15 Mil. on an LB then we're better off getting Kolarov...and as mentioned, Gourcuff will not work and Karim will be a loan deal.

in any case, it's all :seven: :seven: :seven:

Gourcuff already makes 4.6 million for Bordeaux. Thats 0.4 less than what our highest earner Gigi makes today.

Absolutely. I wasn't prioritizing with Gourcuff, rather stating I like him and would love him here.
