Oggy, when we bought Diego we weren't getting one of the best in the world. Mascherano, though is one of the best around and will probably cost about as much or a little bit more. I can tell you what I think is better business but its just my opinion. I'm not saying either way is the right way but inter bring him and coutinho on is damn good business for an already loaded team while we settle with pepe and martinez. Which brings me to my next points....

Marcello, Coutinho is doing just as much as Diego did in preseason this time last year and this year...and is 18 yrs old playing in 3 different formations with ease and still producing...again, 18 yrs old. I'm not saying he is the next kaka but I have a feeling he might very well pass diego shortly. Again, that's just my opinion. And how much did he cost inter??

Bad business is just bad business. If other teams are willing to take the risks while we blow on the melo's then our fiscal policy is going to end up like the Greeks...we should be bring on at least 1-2 younger players a year to develope and making one world beater signing. Build up from there, and not count on the pepe's and martinez's.

Football Italia say we need to sell to afford Krasic
So let me get this straight
Dzeko 30M bid rejected by Wolfsburg which means we have 30M
Krasic is valued at 15M
So we can spend 30M but we can`t spend 15M?! Is 15M>30M?!

Different sort of player completely. Besides, Inter are putting players into a TREBLE WINNING TEAM.

Great, so an 18 year old Brazilian is going to solve our problems. See above.

If other teams are willing to take the risks while we blow on the melo's
If spending €25m on Melo and Diego each wasn't a risk then what is?!?!

I think the plan really was to do what you suggest lastly, although it's a lot easier to do that when you are in a strong position, like Inter. Maybe we should have spent the money for 3 players on one player, then people would moan when we end up with Salihamidzic or Zebina as backups.

The difference is that Agnelli wanted to give Edin as a gift to the fans so he gave money towards it.

They are full of shit. Anyway, I'm sure the club sets aside money for each area. The Dzeko money is something that would be generated for a 'special' player, I don't believe for a second we don't have the money for Krasic. The deal is this - we have about €15m worth of players (minus salaries) to get rid of before the end of the transfer window, it makes more sense to do that first rather than buy Krasic and have a massive squad including dead wood.

Nor was Snejider, but they took the gamble and won.

We are bringing young players, only this season we signed like 5 or 6 young players and we loaned couple of them (not sold). Also youngsters are not projects where someone can guarantee you will get even decent player when he matures. Sometimes you succeed but behind every success there is dozen of failures.

As I said we trying to sign younger players and develop some, but that takes time and we will have to wait, although I agree that should kept Ekdal at least this season (if he really leaves).

Youngsters shouldn't be seen as just projects. They should be seen as investments. That's one of our faulty mentalities -- youngsters are bargaining chips for us instead of pieces to a future puzzle.

So until we change that, I see no point in going after a Coutinho or maybe even a Neymar. Instead of holding him like an investment, we'll trade him around to squeeze out some profit. And then maybe if he manages to do well we'll call him back.

We are better off just buying established players, which isn't entirely smart when it comes to building a team from a bottom line perspective, but it is what it is.

I rate Rafinha higher than Motta. Hopefully the latter will come around this season.
I rarely watch both of them. Motta is rarely get the chance under Ranieri and i don't follow Bundesliga much either.. But i think Rafinha is more experienced with loads of games he played in Schalke and why Schalke (Magath) sell him is a question for me while they actually want to build championship contender team, might be he is not that good..

One thing i see about Genoa transfer is they are so smart in timing when to buy a player. They bought Palacio last season when there is no much hyped around him, previously he is linked with much big club like Arsenal and Barca. Now they buy Veloso and Rafinha for a bargain price if you remember what Everton offer to Lisbon last summer (like 14-16m IIRC) and lots of rumour about we and Milan wants Rafinha last summer with 13-15m price tag.. Now Genoa just buy Veloso for 9m and Rafinha for 8m, what a good business
