We are being linked constantly to strikers and defenders. This tells us that the media has taken note of where our weaknesses are and that the directors likely have as well.

I'm happy the media is pushing Juve in that dorection. We better not buy more midfielders is basically what I'm saying.

I wanted him as a bench player for midfield not defense, his ability to play RB is only a benefit, I made it clear that he was not a solution to the starting RB problem. But unless you want to keep both Tiago and Poulsen we will need more midfield cover, read my post next time
He's a right back. It's not 4-4-2, I don't know why would you want him for our midfield. He can't cover Tiago's position.

It doesn't help believing everything I read :snoop:

    :p

I wouldn't buy Kjaer then Ranocchia for backup. I am not sure I follow your plan...I think perhaps I am confused with it. Are you saying use Cack for CB then Ranocchia for backup or are you saying to buy Kjaer then use Ranocchia for backup?

I think honestly the club is more worried about buying a team right now rather than producing one. Think about it, all our current youngsters: Ariaudo, Gio, Marchsio and PDC were all in the process of pulling through the academies right before Calciopoli...then that hit and suddenly we had to frantically make up a plan. Well, what is quicker? Growing your own corn, harvesting it....processing it...canning it...or is it easier to open up your wallet and just buy it? I think after this next mercato (summer) we will reinvest in our scouting, youth, youth coaching, etc because we will have bought a young team to last for the next half a decade...so, in 5-7 years when we need to "rebuild" again we will have had that many years into scouting and growing our own youth again. Ya follow? Right now, economically and short term high profits we need to spend, long term is a different story that takes more time.

You know I am a HUGEEEEEEEE advocate of youth and KEEPING them here and developing our own, but in the big picture getting our team back to pre-calciopoli is probably easier to buy than the youth process. And even in that case (youth) you can't always guarantee the next "del piero" or "marchisio", etc.

I wouldn't be so worried about "experience" as I would language barrier. 3 italians and a young danish kid still learning the language in a very risky CB position to me would be a risk. But then again, someone experience in reading the game would be able to make up for a language barrier.

yeah but that wouldn't stop them from buying another.

Yep...and Lucio is how old? And Samual? Cordova?

What are you looking for that isn't convincing you about Kjaer? I was more than sold when he man-handled our attack earlier this year. He is uncannily smart for his age...those kinds of smarts are not easy to teach...when you got it, you got it...As dumb as that sounds its like saying that is one less thing we would have to teach him. Give him playing time and watch him grow on his own. He has God behind him and the Savior beside him....not sure how much damage he could do.

    :shifty:
You bring a good point but a team like Juve now can invest in both so there's no real problem. The money is coming.

If we continue with the 4-2-3-1 we don't need somebody to cover Tiago, we need a player to cover the right side when Camo is injured. If we go back to the 4-3-1-2 than I agree, we don't need Behrami

I like the size and strength of Kjaer. He's 6 foot 2 and still pretty mobile.

The problem is we could still use a more experienced partner for Chiellini, but getting one would be difficult. I'd suggest Marquez but he hasn't seemed with it recently.

So this Dominguez guy is free in December? Can't play in the CL though. meelan, viola merda, Palermo and other European clubs(Atl-Mad., Zaragoza...) are interested. I wouldn't give him major $$$ in wages to snap him up. For a decent sum ok. His agent(Sivori Jr.) said he wants to make a deal in a couple of weeks. Dominguez prefers Italy or Spain.

Seen him 5-6 games (back in Zenit too), and he is really really good. Tactically it might not make a sense, even if we dont have backup AMs, but if any of you seen the two games against Barca, you'll see what a little maestro he can be. Quite intelligent and orchestrates every move. Getting that for free would be cool.

But Behrami can't cover the right side where Camo is. He can't cover Tiago's position so we don't need him anyhow.
