Berg is a mystery to me. He scores a fair share of goals but he is just so limited with the ball and sometimes you won't even know he's on the field. Reminds you a lot about Trezeguet, really.

Mark, what do you make of Napoli replacing Marino with the Juve board member?

What did/does Montali do for Juve?
    Gian Paolo Montali
Born in Parma on 18 January 1960, he began his long career as volleyball coach winning four Italian Youth League titles between 1984 and 1987.

The only coach to have won five National League titles in four different cities (in Parma, Treviso, Rome and Athens with Olympiakos), his honours also includes a European Cup (won in 1995 when he coached Sisley Treviso), three European Super Cups, four Cup Winners Cups, three Italian Cups and two Greek Cups.

He also won the world title with Maxicono Parma in 1990, the year he achieved the grand slam (5 titles won in the same season: Italian Cup, Cup Winners Cup, European Super Cup, Italian League title and World Cup for Clubs). He coached the Greek national team from 1998 to 2000; in 2003 he became coach of the Italian National team, winning the European Championships twice (in Berlin in 2003 and in Rome in 2005), and coming second in the World Cup in Tokyo in 2003 and at the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004.

While working as coach, he also taught Coaching and Team Building courses at University level (at Bocconi SDA and Cattolica in Milan and at the University of Parma) and took part as speaker in several training and company consulting courses.

He has been awarded the Cavaliere Ufficiale della Repubblica honour for his achievements in sport.

    **********

I still don't see how he can make Napoli's mercato like Marino did.

But honestly i wouldn't take Diego. When you have a midfield of Cesc and Rosicky its hard to put Diego with them without upsetting the teams balance. I'd take Ribery in a heartbeat though

Well if any team had a chance to sign Franck Ribéry, you'd take it, you wouldn't contemplate wether he'd fit in the formation etc.

Sometimes you have to though. For example in Diego's case. We'd have to remove two players in order to accommodate him. Add to that, we aren't weak in terms of creatiivity. Cesc, Rosicky and Arshavin are doing enough in that department. Despite Diego being a fantastic player, i would not take him.

So you're saying Diego and Franck Ribéry are on the same level, basically?

I'm saying they're pretty close. Diego hasn't really proven that yet(Hasn't played for a big team, up until now), but i think he will show that he isn't that far off Ribery.
