Cobolli Gigli: D'Ago talks to resume
Thursday 25 June, 2009
Juventus President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has revealed his directors will meet with their Udinese counterparts to discuss the transfer of Gaetano D'Agostino.
The 27-year-old midfielder has been the subject of one of this summer's longest running transfer sagas, as Juventus and Udinese cannot agree a fee.
D'Agostino has been very candid with the Italian Press about his desire to move to Turin.
Udinese President Giampaolo Pozzo has also said that a deal would eventually be done.
“New meetings for D'Agostino are in progress and the deal proceeds. We are confident,” Cobolli Gigli said.
Udinese are said to want £21m for D'Agostino either in cash or other players.
Juventus would like to do an exchange deal. However, the players they have offered Udinese do not want to move to Friuli.
In other news, Cobolli Gigli added that the Bianconeri are still on the lookout for a defender.
Juventus are in the market for a left-back and have been linked with Lyon's Fabio Grosso.
“We will do something for the defence, but for the moment we are dealing with arguments that have yet to take shape,” he concluded.
