Diego, Kwadwo Asamoah, Criscito, Cannavaro and a RB and call it a summer. I would be happy.

I am beginning to think a Asamoah-Sissoko-Marchisio midfield would be indestructible. Young, tough, hardworking, fast, 3 box-to-box hardworking midfielders to destroy. I love it.

What do you mean our strikers? We can play a 4321 or a 4312...depends. The way our injuries happened this year, we may need all the strikers we can keep for next year. Trust me, if Diego-Gio servicing them with great passing they will be so much more effective than this year with marchionni-nedved-grygera-molinaro giving them maybe 1 good ball out of 10.

Besides, we may need to sell one of them to fund our mercato.

I suppose I could live with something like that. But if so we would have to splash that cash for a great RB who can attack. Someone like Sagna or Rafinha come to mind. Perhaps Lichty would suffice, too.

Rafinha is in my sig:D

Well that's what I was saying. If we were to sell one of our strikers to help fund it, I would be ok with that because not only are we strengthening our midfield by A LOT with Asamoah/Diego but we would also strengthen our defense by adding a nice RB, bringing back a good young defender and dare I say ....Cannavaro by not really weakening our attack.

If anything, losing a striker by adding a great attacking mid like Diego paired with Gio our attack will be even stronger than it was this year. Then next summer, perhaps strengthen our CB with the post Cannavaro and then add a new striker for the aging DP or Trez if we still have him.

That would be the best possible transfer IMO.

Lichty would be the best option IMO. Rafinha isn't reliable in defense IMO and Sagna would be impossible. I am afraid that neither Ranieri or Secco see that we need Side-Backs badly

Jérémy Mathieu back in the rumors with Juve today.
It took me a while to dig this one up, anyways, Mark ici...

Jérémy Mathieu's contract expires in the summer, any good, Fred?
Has been off form for two years, too much of a risk and was never a good defender anyway. He was always brilliant going forward, and i personally expected him to improve his defensive side and turn out to be a decent fullback, but he's been going backwards for two years.

Cheikh Mbengue the other leftback from Toulouse is a better option. 19 year old promising fullback, he's been brilliant whenever filling in for Jeremy, and he looks like he's got the potential to turn into a quality fullback.

I don't think we should continue playing a 4-4-2 unless we are getting Ribery, Silva, or even Bastos. Obviously if this happens, it would imply no Diego, and potentially limited opportunities for Giovinco. In addition, we would also be required to buy a competent RM to compensate for Camo's constant injuries and Macro Macaroni's incompetency.

Ideally we should sell:

Molinaro
Knezevic
Zebina
Tiago
Poulsen
Zanetti
Marchionni
Trezeguet

I would even add Grygera. However, we can realistically expect to get rid of Tiago Poulsen, Knezevic (loan return), and possibly Trezeguet (if he no longer wishes to remain here). Let us also not forget about Almiron, and Palladino.

I would acquire:

A decent RB
Recall Criscito from Genoa @ all costs
A CB whose name is not Fabio Cannelloni
Diego
Guberti
An up and coming striker whose name is not Cassano, Floccari, or Quagliarella

If we were to dispose of both Tiago and Poulsen, then we would obviously need a new CM, and Ekdal can also be promoted to the 1st team

With these acquisitions we can play 4-4-2, 4-3-2-1, and 4-3-1-2 with their variations

Here is what my my team would look like:

GKs:

Buffon
Manninger
GK 3

Defence:

Chiellini
Agger
Criscito
Mellberg
Legrottaglie
Decent RB
Molinaro
Grygera

Midfield:

Marchisio
Sissoko
Asamoah
Ekdal
Zanetti
Diego
Camoranesi
Guberti
De Ceglie

Attack:

Del Piero
Giovinco
Amauri
Iaquinta
Up and Coming striker
