What are your gasoline prices currently, and what did they used to be?

On Friday the price per barrel of oil on the NYMEX increased by 11 USD... that's a record by the way.

I don't know much about your government, but petroleum prices in general are high for various reasons.

I honestly think he has the lowest IQ on the forums, and that in itself is saying quite a lot. No idea what he's trying to say with his posts in this thread. If he had an IQ of 76 he'd opt to stay out of this conversation.

I don't know much about your government, but petroleum prices in general are high for various reasons.

We know that petroleum prices are going to increase generally, but informing the people about it literally one night before for such a sharp increase of 40% overnight didn't sit too well with Malaysians... the current prime minister said that it would happen in August and suddenly he announced this last week - where has all the money gone to?

And I dont know if that could've been avoided in the first place, but this coming from the same prime minister who said they will not dissolve the parliament only to do just that the very next day not so long ago, the same govt suffered the worst election result in Malaysian history currently plus many scandals are being exposed right under their noses ... so this petrol thing is just the icing on the cake

It all just adds up .. - we're not naive to think that petrol prices won't go up, but the problem is the accounts do not tally - we're supposed to be richer than what the govt is letting on - and this has been going on for quite some time, we're charged for ridiculously high toll charges and our car taxes are INSANE, our money is literally lost in thin air.

Currently, our petrol price is at 0.827313 USD/litre. Read somewhere that's pretty high for an oil exporting country

Andy .. Maher got it the wrong way .. The summer and winter demands are almost the same ..In summer we have driving and cooling (extra electric energy spent) and in winter we have heating .. the problem is supply..

In winter the supply decreases so much that the price must shoot up .. That's why in fall many countries buy oil and gas to reserve through winter .. I don't exactly remember why the supply decreases but it's about transporting pipelines and ships and if I wasn't in finals period I would've done a bit of research for you ..

No, you're wrong. The reason why the prices of oil in my country are continuing growing higher is because of supply demands, but also because of the summer driving season. The demand for gasoline in the summer is far greater than the demand for heating oil and NATURAL GAS in the winter, with the later two providing my country with the most comfort during the winter. You guys have GOT to distinguish the difference.

The supply of crude decreases through winter because the major refiners/gas companies are buying up the product for our usual driving season. I mean, you guys do know the United States drives on average twice as much during the summer as in the winter. It's part of our culture because the cool destinations are far away.

I think some of you guys fail to understand petroleum economics.
