All this time I was convinced that the Calciopoli investigation was legit and handled in accordance with the rules in the name of fairness.

Luciano Moggi does not believe the climate of Italian football will significantly change following the trial into match-fixing.

The former Juventus general manager has been banned from football for five years, and fined €50,000 for his involvement in the scandal.

He has apologized for what he did, but feels that he has been made a scapegoat.

It is Moggi's opinion that there are wider problems in Italian football, and that he and fellow former official Antonio Giraudo, who received a similar punishment, did not deserve to be singled out.

"It is a verdict that only hit me, Antonio Giraudo and Juventus," he told La Repubblica.

"They conveniently selected 40 phone calls out of more than 100,000.

"If they want public opinion to be that the football world was dirty, and that it was dirty because of Moggi, then that is a lie.

"Everyone must know that although me and Giraudo are out, nothing has changed.

"It is like sweeping two grains of sand out of a dusty house and saying the house is clean."

Moggi also dismissed doubts surrounding the authenticity of Juve's last two Serie A titles.

Atleast I hope Fiorentina or Lazio mention some other clubs...perhaps if we bring enough club names to the spotlight, then all charges towards the clubs will be dropped and instead the whole FIGC personel and directors will be changed along with everyclub having to renew their board.

actually,none of us nor the players believed it was a farce.we all know that the titles were fairly won on the picth and those 2 scudetti are ours,we have won them.only officially they are not,which is a problem actually

This is, of course, my biggest fear of all... That after all this, it will be just window dressing when the core issues of missing checks and balances and a series of conflicts of interest continue to go on unaddressed.
