I think this year the Italian teams in CL will own the English teams and put them back to where they belong.

I hate to say this, but even If Inter Milan, yes Inter Milan will play any english side this year I'll be cheering for Inter like a mad man.

They should be brought back to earth.
i think it may take 2-3 years but make no mistake, serie a is beginning to resurge ! clubs like juve, inter, milan and roma will always have massive pulling power and appeal to footballers but the time has come that clubs need to be more willing to speculate to accumulate. inter are probably best placed to challenge for the Cl this year but juve have a spirit that may well carry them further than the ability of their squad may suggest

We have stars like Zlatan,Vieira, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Ronaldo, Pato, Pirlo, Sheva, Sissoko, Mourinho and Molinaro, what do they have?

No wonder C.Ronaldo is desperate to leave them...:soapit:

“It’s not difficult to respond to the English, all you have to do is watch a Premier League game with a little concentration and you’ll have the answer.”

the big problem with the EPl over the years,a nd where serie a always had the advantage was in the defensive 3rd. you could watch an EPL game, and sure it was great entertainment, but with a critical eye you would see 2 teams rushing forward and leaving themselves more open than paris hiltons crotch.

this, i must say, is where the EPL has improved drastically in recent years. sure the bottom hal;f of the table is full of teams that would love to take titus bramble on board but lately manure, chelsea, etc have really added a steely resolve to their defensive game. this is why the english teams have finally cracked european football IMHO

the league is better than serie a now (I mean, seriously, Inter winning two years in a row? :D ) but 'english football' better than italian? Reminds me of

Q: Wat do you call an Englishman in Euro 2008?

A: A referee

2008 is as recent as it gets.
not even close. English Football is still as shitty as ever, goes to show that English players dont have much to do with how good the EPL has become in recent years.

And they wonder why their NT struggles.

I just listened to a journalist claim England would've won Euro 2004 had Rooney been fit.....just like some claimed England would've won Euro 2008 - had they qualified! :howler:

Zambro in England attack
Friday 5 September, 2008
Milan's Azzurri defender Gianluca Zambrotta has hit out at English football after recent criticism of Serie A in the nation's Press.

An article in The Times recently described Italy's top flight as “a retirement home for old players” and “a get rich quick scheme.”

However, Zambro, who moved from Barcelona to Milan at the start of the summer, has defended his homeland.

“What makes me laugh is that the English are always the first to talk when they should be the last,” the former Juventus defender growled.

“They should take a look at themselves because they didn't even qualify for Euro 2008.

“As for Serie A being a retirement home, I'm sure that's what I need at the age of 31. I have all the experience to be able to motivate myself.

“Personally I think that the quality of our First Division has improved, but then again you have the same old certainties like Maurizio Zamparini firing his Coach after the first game!”

Zambrotta is on call with Italy for their trip to Lanarca to face Cyprus in their opening World Cup 2010 qualifier tomorrow evening.

The only thing that the Brits have now have is money
and they used them ti buy their success, adding the best and most expensive talents to their squads and giving them salaries, no other country can afford.

The best teams, Chelski, Manure, Children's Arsenal and even Pool, only prove that...

As for the NT, their arrogance and hype prevents them to focus
And achieve the necessary efficieny needed to win smth
Not the lack of local talent!
Gerrard, Lampard, Terry and Rooney,
can compete with the best Italy, and any other European team, may field...

Well we're all highlighting the fact that England's NT failures can be attributed to the fact that there is a huge foreign contingent preventing the rise of many English youths in PREMIERSHIP football (maybe Championship has more).

But let's say this recent Croatia win gets the momentum going. What if England succeed in 2010, I just can't imagine how much their media will poetically harp on about it like a mythical folk story...

Personally got nothing against them, I just hate their media.

Not even Old Firm?

Not that I'm a fan of either (I cheer Smelltic when the two clash), I like Aberdeen the most. (ok so I've been using them in FM since 2000...:toast: and only watched a handful of games like the home one vs. Bayern in Uefa cup.)

There is some money in the Old Firm because of the size of their fan bases, but the amount of money from TV and sponsorship is nothing compared to the big leagues.

I support gravity when the Old Firm play each other, because I hope it can cause the stadium to collapse.
