Our city has like 2 million people. It's not big either, but that's not even about the size, but it's a horrible league despite football being very popular. Red Star and Partizan are the only two representative clubs we have and both have decent results. Not decent results per se, but when you take into consideration how poor we are and how budgets are basically non-existent, we do rather well.

I simply can't digest the fact that my hometown team won't be able to play against those teams EVER. And yes, my hometown team is quite poor and does poorly. But same team managed to beat Liverpool and play draw against Napoli. And same team managed to win the whole thing 30 years ago.

Also, the worst thing in how this is self proclaimed league, where you have some random teams appear to be in it, but not some better teams. Not just that, but majority of teams can't even get relegated.

It's such a stupid thing.

Real Madrid, Manchester and all other big clubs have huge profits while some even have huge debts. They give players 300k euros per week while my hometown team gives like 50k euros per month. But my hometown team has small profits, has no budget, has nothing, yet it managed to beat Liverpool and draw against Napoli. Sure, other teams did trash us. This was Champions League. My team managed to win the league, then we went through three or four phases to get past other European teams from different leagues where we managed to beat Red Bull Salzburg in the last phase. It was how the game was played, those were the rules, and we managed to get into CL groups deservedly so. It was not only a huge success for my team but a huge achievement for a whole country, since we're going to host Liverpool, Napoli and PSG, just like what happened a couple of years ago. Kids and talented players from Partizan went all around Europe and we gave one of the biggest talents out there, some amazing world class defenders came from my country. They all dream about winning league here while they are kids, so they can go fight for a CL spot so they can show their worth. It's just a big thing for everyone. Now, all of a sudden, some nobodies and self proclaimed elites pops up, and just takes it away because they want more money and power, and not just that, but they want a closed competition

Champions League was what it used to be. Champions League is not the same competition with WBA, Sampdoria, Frankfurt, Betis and Metz.

It's not going to be the same competition when you got clubs like slavia prague and Hapoel who gives a fuck competing, and more so when it's expanding numbers in 2024. It's been diluted for years.

The problem with cl as of today and even worse in the future is the number of small clubs and uninteresting matches throughout the competition. On a global level it lessens the sport and interest. Clubs of similar statue competing in hard fought matches is interesting and will be of the highest quality. It might be fun for locals watching their team lose 6 matches in cl group stage but it does nothing for all others.

Then there's the market thing.

Not any club outside of super league will be able to buy a player that's wanted by them. Every club will try to milk Super League clubs, nobody outside of it will manage to match those numbers. So clubs will end up with worse players in average, making league even less interesting. Competition will be eradicated.
