I understand and agree with slapping the league in the face, but I really struggle to see how this ends up becoming the NBA/NFL of soccer. I think people are massively underrating just how powerful and effective these American sports, media, and marketing companies are.

yep, and it’s not just us. A lot of clubs were feeling the heat earlier this season, and Covid absolutely fucked the finances of these mega clubs. It there was a season to announce a Super League, this was it.

The Super League will likely evolve over time to allow more teams based on merit.
As for the CL, it'll turn into a European FA Cup over time with the Super League being the main trophy.

fuck the smaller teams, do they care about us? no. So I don't see why we should care for them. It really won’t affect small teams. Clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid hoard all the money in La Liga. Serie A teams can’t get any poorer. PL clubs will be affected though.
