Then nothing really changes? Don't think clubs expected to play in both UEFA comps and ESL?

I suppose the challenge will be to convince other clubs to abandon UEFA for this risky new entity.

This new entity unfortunately has no legs to stand on

Why would you abandon UEFA for a breakaway league which most teams are opposing it anyway

Agreed.

The only thing that can entice more clubs is more money, a lot more money that is guaranteed. That will be some task to get such a massive investment from sponsors for such a risky venture. What may help though is no governing body taking more than half (?) of the revenues earned.

SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING
Here's hoping the powerhouses in Germany, Italy and Spain will still have their allurement.

Here I'm of course thinking of Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern, Juventus etc.

But it's clear if the money gap grows bigger and bigger even these historic clubs will have a hard time.

SUPERLEAGUE FORMAT TO BE REDESIGNED TO INCLUDE 50 TEAMS

As news emerges that UEFA are looking to put the nail in the coffin of the European Superleague, further reports of the potential reforms to the competition have also emerged.

On Tuesday it was reported that UEFA would try to take advantage of Juventus’ legal and financial situation in order to strip one third of the members of the Superleague away.

Now L’Equipe say that plans for the competition are slowly advancing. According to their report (via MD), the Superleague will likely include 50 teams from 12 countries, and in their words, will be based on a meritocracy. The likes of Portugal, the Netherlands or Denmark would all be represented.

The organising firm, A22, are confident that the project will go ahead. Both sides of the divide are waiting for the European Courts to decide whether UEFA can punish breakaway teams before taking any action though.

Regardless of the format, the number of games between the elite teams and the pooling of money at the top of the game seem likely to increase. As has been seen with the UEFA reforms to the Champions League, there will be four extra games and more guarantees of success for the bigger sides.

What is it with the fear of UEFA punishment?!

Leave or don't leave, and if you leave, why the hell do you care?
superleague won't be ready to start for a few years, and the club's budget heavily relies on cl revenue. iirc we need cl r16 to break even lol

take away the cl revenue = we won't be able to pay our players without further cash injection

it would be a heavy blow financially
