This team of semi-pros are doing great in the UEFA cup. They knocked out Lokomotiv Moscow, and won with 1-4 against Austria Wien.

And now they are winning with 2-0 against Sparta Prague.

Their top striker Mathys works in a sportsshop not faraway from my home, and the coach is a cop in Ghent, the city I live in. Other players are factory workers and constructors.

Zulte all the way! It's great to see them play, everyone was amazed at their performance in the league last year. And this year they started off a bit 'disappointing' but they really hit full throttle in the UEFA cup, I hope they get far, it's amazing. :D

    Forza Zulte-Waregem

Figures Ajax have to go down to Gent still... How do they play? I was watching Ajax - Austria Vienna last night (3-0 in case you didn't know) and the Austrians were playing 5-4-1. That shit really pisses me off.

Great result for them, hopefully they can continue this in the league now.
Nobody expected them to do so well last season, but this surely tops it all.

That's what I'm working on changing. I spend all day lobbying, organising conferences and getting Dutch companies to invest in Wallonia. Think in terms of design, innovation, technology and that type of thing. Especially transport and logistics is a very important sector where Holland can really help you out. Wallonia is changing, for the better.

This reminds me of a time when Rosenborg was a semi-pro club. Hell, when I was back in junior high, one of their players was a substitute teacher at my school. Then they started playing in the Champions League and everything changed completely.

It's funny how the "big" Belgian clubs do everything to be succesfull in Europe.

Standard fought like hell to be 2nd in the league, brought half of the Portuguese veteran team .. and didn't past the qualifying round for the CL

Anderlecht spent big time in Argentina, and bought the Belgian League's top player (Boussouffa), but despite having an easy group, they're now more aiming for the third place in the CL.

Brugge is struggling in their UEFA cup, drawing against Leverkusen, losing in Tottenham. can't call it bad, and they still can get through, but they hoped for something better.

And then came the boerkes of Z-W. They promoted from 2nd league last year. Ended up third(!) IIRC, won the Cup, and here they are winning match after match in UEFA... Nothing but respect and sympathy for the guys.
Unfortunately they're not doing good in the league (16th/18)

Simply amazing! Bunch of amateurs. Wow and we are talking about UEFA Cup here. Hope best of luck for them.

As for Anderlect - I feel sorry for them. What did Beligans do to Kaka's ancesters to deserve such a brute rapt? Kaka seems to bring AAA game against any Belgian oppositions.

true that. 4 goals in 2 matches against RSCA, the winner in Brugge... :pumpkin:
