Ghana's Appiah Launches Own Brand Of Clothing
Ghanaian star Stephen Appiah has launched his own brand of clothing, capitalising on his status as one of Africa's most beloved footballers.
The Fenerbahce midfielder will formally unveil the StepApp range on Monday in Accra in plenty of time for the African Cup of Nations in January.
Items such as t-shirts, shoes, wallets and purses will be on sale across the western part of the continent and South Africa soon, before also seeing release across the rest of Africa.
Then, European and North American customers will also be able to buy items from the range, which will also include bags, jeans and jackets in 2008.
The midfielder pointed out that some of the proceeds from the clothing range will go towards funding the StepApp Foundation, his own personal charity.
Appiah told the media, "In the past I have personally financed the StepApp Foundation and I want to expand the activities to reach many more people in Africa.
"I want to help create the kind of clothes which I would want to wear and for everybody to admire."
Appiah is the first African player to launch such an ambitious scheme, joining the likes of David Beckham in being a brand in his own right.
The former Juventus man signed up with Fenerbahce in 2005.

It's not Juve related, but I found it interesting.
1. Appiah has always been played out of position at Juventus, that's y he failed to perform at Juventus yet he is a hero at Ghana. If he should be roaming as an AM, he would have achieved greater things, no wonder I feel strange to see him having qualities of an AM yet being deployed as a DM. Furthermore he has leadership qualities. I will not hesistate to sell Blasi after the 2004-2005 season.

Corriere dello Sport says the Turkish giants, now eliminated from the Champions League, are in talks with Juve about a loan deal for Appiah.
Juve and Fener are now thrashing out terms over a fee to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Totally agree with you, when Tiago is introduced into the game he makes and impact. I hate it that Ranieri doesn't use Tiago more often, but I have to applaude him for the job he has done with the defense especially when we played against Inter and Milan, using the offside really well (except for one incident, the Julio Cruz goal on us).
On second glance, Corriere is looking pretty sketchy with their information.
Fenerbahce is not eliminated from CL... in fact, it would take a pretty surprising turn of events for them not to be in the Round of 16. Essentially, PSV would have to beat Inter (which is possible), and Fenerbahce would have to somehow lose or draw with CSKA Moscow, who only have 1 point to begin with.
If they can't get that right... I have to wonder about the rest. Though I stick with my original assertion that Appiah is a better fit than Almiron.
