Dunno the episode name but it's the one where the local cinema is showing a skin flick :D
thats the one i was thinking of.

Graham Linehan is the best comedy writer of the 90s-00s

Father Ted
Black Books
IT Crowd

:tuttosport:

I highly rate Jessica Stevenson, Simon Pegg, Chris Morris and Jesse Armstrong & Sam Bain too. Not keen on the popular ones - Gervais, Walliams & Lucas, Miranda Hart etc.

Black Books is indeed great.

Channel 4 had almost all the good stuff from that period, when you factor in Peep Show, Green Wing and Brass Eye as well.

Haven't enjoyed much BBC comedy since their 70s-80s programming - blackadder, monty python etc. They occassionally get something good like QI or The Thick of It (written by the peep show writters), News/Screen/Year-wipe but the rest of it is mawkish MOR shit. I used too enjoy HIGNFY, but I really can't stand Hislop anymore - he's a man thats fallen in love with his own voice and is trying his hand at being David Mitchell, but misses the point of David Mitchells rants. Every episode I see of it now the writters seem to bring on an idiot for him to shout at...and its not funny.

Channel 4 is still better but theres not been much good recently, The Inbetweeners was awful

Talking about Brass Eye - did you guys catch Jam? That is one of the fuckng darkest shows i've ever seen.

That isn't dark but fucking funny :D

"thick people are very good at arguments...because they're too stupid to realise they've lost" :D
