Of course it does.
No it doesn't. My choice doesn't need to be yours.
The reason why Indian football is rubbish is probably because everyone has your weak mindset. Perhaps it's something to think about.
I wouldn't attribute it only towards a weak mindset alone. Reasons ranging from nurturing of talent to sponsors and promotion of the sport to poor training and playing conditions. I don't disagree with you on this. But I know that thing won't change rapidly very soon. It'll surely take a long time till we see India in the WC finals. There's a lot of work to be done, but no one's doing it well right now.

I could live with being a fake Italian fan.

As for the second part that is complete bullshit. No reason? What reason do I have to support Juventus? None, I just do because I like this team, same with the Azzurri.

I understand that there are gayboy italiens out there who support the Azzurri over the US and Grease up their Guido mops with Ragu but I am not such. I am not an Italian nor do I wish to be so there is no reason to group me up with those wannabe euro fags.

What????

Just because you made up this "glorious thread" does not give you the right to be utterly disrespectful to people of a certain ethnic background.

Yo, when did you call me?

I got your message a couple hours ago but it didn't show me that you called.

Was I that drunk last night that I accidently erased your call???

Stupid.

Support where you are from, and that's it.
I agree, but I think its alright to support other nations too. Last World Cup, most of us supported Italy only because of how Calciopoli tainted our club and Italy winning the WC was one of the best ways to prove we didn't or we didn't need to cheat and that we were champions. I was so happy when I saw around 9-11 Juve players in the final, I didn't care if Italy or France won it. And we are ALL not glory hunters. I didn't even follow Italy in the Euros the last time. Maybe I m still a little attached to Italy (only because of our Italian players), but I wouldn't want them to win the WC again. This year, since my NT isn't in the WC, I'll be watching as a neutral, but I hope one of the underdogs(South Africa, US, hell even Honduras) win it.

None of this "but I grew up here, my parents are here, but I lived here" bullshit.
So you have no problem watching G. Rossi play for Italy, right?

Interesting points terrorist,

you agreed with Jack ,the guy that supported Oranje at the WC 2006 , because Lebanon wasn't there.
I did not support Oranje, I was in Holland at the time and I said that it will be fun if Holland wins so I can experience the joy of a nation winning a World Cup while being there.

Since Sweden is not playing this time I don't really support any team. But what if I told you guys that I wouldn't mind seeing Buffon, Chiellini, Marchisio and Iaquinta sticking around in South Africa for a lot of games in the WC so I can watch them on my TV? I don't really care if they play good football or about the other players on the team, all I'm saying is that I'm looking forward to see these guys playing, I wish for them to play good and they so happened to be playing for Italy.

I'm also looking forward to see Spain go far cause I like their type of play, The US cause I've lived there and I have a lot of American friends and Ivory Coast cause I thinks its time for an African team to go far in WC.

So, does that make me a glory hunter?
I do the exact same thing. I like so many African players and I wanted them to do well because I like them for cultural reasons and wanted to see them play as many matches as possible.

I think it is nice when Sweden does well on the international level because it creates a happy feeling in the place I live. That was the exact same reason I thought about Holland. I was working in Amsterdam at the time of the last World Cup and thought it would be fun to live the joy of the Dutch had they won the cup.

I also wanted the US to do well so that they upset all the morons that generalise that a nation like the USA should stick to baseball.

Contradiction.

He's Lebanese origin, Lebanese parents, Lebanese roots, lived in Lebanon, raised in Lebanon. And suppose he doesn't hold the Swedish citizen? He doesn't have the right to support Sweden in the World Cup because of a freaking passport?
You are right but I do hold the Swedish citizenship however I don't support the Swedish national team. As I said earlier, it is fun to see them do well because of the ambience it creates in the country.

Unless you are trying to win Andy points
Most people here try too hard to get those points.

Hey, Andrew, hasn't it occurred to you that perhaps my country isn't that good in football because we just don't have the money to?? Besides having talent you need money to develop it ... (BTW I'm not talking about my specific country but about any 3rd world country)

why is it that people of nations, founded, formed and run by immigrants, think that they have the high ground on supporting your country? but at least its the correct thread, they are projecting their own insecurities regarding their nationality and their jealousy of the success that so called fan-boy glory hunters achieve

thank god Scotland didn't qualify again and i can watch this tournament impartially

But according to Andy if you're not supporting your own country then you don't have the right to support any other country.

Lets say I do support Romania. But I don't have the citizen. What does that make me?

Really silly. Let each one supports whatever he wants, they're not supporting on his behalf. If I want to support Italy or Cameroon then let it be, it's not like I have to give excuses of why I would want this team to win or why I cheer for them at the world cup.

And I think whoever gives an excuses to why he's supporting this NT or that is also silly. No one has the right to judge what NT you support.

It's not like Andy didn't support/celebrated the Croatian win over the English couple of years ago when the English didn't qualify to the Euros. Does that make him a Croatian fan and does that makes him someone who is ditching his own country for cheering for another NT? No it doesn't, but it makes him a person who was cheering and supporting a team against the other. Isn't this what football is all about?
Exactly !!!!!!!!!!!!! +++++rep
