Yes, but at least he lives there.

Do you pull for Romania?
But according to Andy if you're not supporting your own country then you don't have the right to support any other country.

Lets say I do support Romania. But I don't have the citizen. What does that make me?

Really silly. Let each one supports whatever he wants, they're not supporting on his behalf. If I want to support Italy or Cameroon then let it be, it's not like I have to give excuses of why I would want this team to win or why I cheer for them at the world cup.

And I think whoever gives an excuses to why he's supporting this NT or that is also silly. No one has the right to judge what NT you support.

It's not like Andy didn't support/celebrated the Croatian win over the English couple of years ago when the English didn't qualify to the Euros. Does that make him a Croatian fan and does that makes him someone who is ditching his own country for cheering for another NT? No it doesn't, but it makes him a person who was cheering and supporting a team against the other. Isn't this what football is all about?

Exactly. Just because ones NT is not participating, doesn't mean we cannot cheer for another team. I personally cannot view a football match as a neutral. It's natural for me to expect one of the 2 teams playing to win the game. Just because I cheer for one team and wish they do well, doesn't mean that I'm abandoning my support for my NT and not supporting football in my country.

I was rooting against England. Look back a few pages and see what I said about supporting a side compared to hoping another is beaten.

As for the rest, I simply do not agree. I don't accept folks who support other national teams besides their own because it's fucking retarded. Full stop. And when I see people who aren't Italian celebrating this summer, you can be rest assured that I will give them hell for it. Why? Because they aren't real supporters.

I could live with being a fake Italian fan.

As for the second part that is complete bullshit. No reason? What reason do I have to support Juventus? None, I just do because I like this team, same with the Azzurri.

I understand that there are gayboy italiens out there who support the Azzurri over the US and Grease up their Guido mops with Ragu but I am not such. I am not an Italian nor do I wish to be so there is no reason to group me up with those wannabe euro fags.
There isn't a reason because you already have a team, the US.

But go ahead and support Italy if we're knocked out. You will be grouped together with the rest of the delusional clowns.

Okay, then tell me what you do to support football in your own country.

There's really not much that can be done here. The football scene here is really primitive. There's not much encouragement or investment towards football here. It's all about cricket. There's very few cities\states where football is equally popular as cricket, if not more than cricket. Thus there's no much talent here on the first place.

It's seems to be improving slowly though. We've won the Nehru Cup here twice in 3 years, so we've qualified for the AFC Asian Cup in 2011.

    Stupid.

Support where you are from, and that's it.

None of this "but I grew up here, my parents are here, but I lived here" bullshit.

What's crazy is that some can't just enjoy football as a neutral. They have to support somebody and then bask in another nation's glory. I believe that is the definition of delusion.

There's nothing crazy about it. It's just one of the ways someone can view sports: either neutral, or picking a side. Just cos you choose to be neutral towards everyone except the US, doesn't mean we're not supposed to.

The reason why Indian football is rubbish is probably because everyone has your weak mindset. Perhaps it's something to think about.

Yet we continuously hear the words "World Champions" circulating the forum and throughout various football outlets.
So Juventus are the most successful team in Italian football, and that doesn't mean shit right now either
