Anyone ever seen 2DTV on the Beeb? It's a cartoon of sketches. In one of them, they had Bin Laden and two croneys digging under one of the venues.
OBL "Right, by my calculations, we should be under one of the venues now. Let's plant the bomb, and reduce it to rubble"
Lacky <pokes his head up to have a look>"But it's already rubble."
<Greek builder lifts his head just long enough to make a sandwich, before going back to sleep on his box of booze >:D
hey!

Judging by what you wrote after that, I'd say you'll fit right in ;)
If my humour is wasted on a Dutchman, I hesitate to say I'll be keeping shut in the Fatherland. ;)

MUCH better!
Not when you're waiting for them it's not. Try explaining to a guy that you sold his ticket into the Brazil match instead of waiting for him because you wanted to be there before kickoff.

Try giving his ticket to the guy at the cash register and telling him the name and description of the person he can give it to.

Be a bit more flexible already! ;)

Cash register? The tickets sold out online in literally two minutes. They were going for about €200 just before kickoff, though I'm not a ripoff merchant, and sold it at face value. Bloody honesty.

My gosh guys, I can't believe this. It turns out that the Athens organising committe conceded that they won't have their venues ready in time, and according to the rules, the 2004 Olympics will be held in Sydney, since that was the venue for the last Olympic games.

If that was meant to crash my computer, remove it now. And grow up.

it bothers me actually that everyone doubts that greeks will be able to organize the olympic games.

They are? Not according to anything I've ever read.

greek mentality is that:do everyhting at the last minute! :D
Which is it - are they on schedule, or leaving it all to the "last minute"?
and i am greek to the bones :D

Sure. But if anything collapses because of shoddy, rushed worksmanship, guess whose conscience it'll be on.

I don't care whether the Greeks blindly support their country or not. I'm far more worried that the girders support the roofs. to be blunt Lili, I don't trust your personal opinion on the safty of anything larger than a doll's house. If the stadia aren't going to be done on time, that's one thing, but if they're rushed, it gets a lot more serious.:frown:

So sure of what? I read what I read. Why you say things like "greek mentality is that:do everyhting at the last minute!" I can only assume that there's some truth.

I don't care if you're camping out in the building sites, it doesn't mean you have any insight into when anything will be completed. Who died and made you forum structural engineer?
