Unfortunately I didn't see Hoori's post. But you've given me a pretty good summary here I can go with.
Burke isn't above banning. His history has proven that. The strange irony here is perhaps that Burke has become a better member when he became a moderator. (I was really dicey on the idea, Bozi heavily supported it, and to be honest, I think Burke has been a lot more fair and unbiased than I ever would have given him credit for.)
Burke does what he does for outrageousness and laughs, for the most part. Not everyone sees the humor, of course. But while you cannot avoid offending everyone, life is absurd enough and I would concur there are times where humor is appropriate. Even at my own expense.
But others do what they do to provoke insult and belittle the other person's belief systems and culture almost out of an air of superiority and self-smugness. That's less about trying to earn laughs as much as inflict pain. Sure, we're dealing with some very fuzzy borders here, and my interpretation is far from flawless. But that's a bit of how I genuinely see it, since you sort of reasonably asked.
I think many of you don't realize that Seven was under a permanent ban a long time ago, and I was the one mod who eventually had a change of heart and lobbied to have him return to the forums. I did that once, convinced he was making an honest effort to be less destructive. It lasted for a while, but his habits returned heavily after several months.
Having been through all that once before, it shouldn't come as a surprise as I'm not willing to be one to be the first to go to bat for him again. Not so much that I felt betrayed by him (that doesn't really matter in the end), but rather because I know exactly what will happen again. The forums will self-centeredly become about him. These forums should be about nobody in particular, and I even hate the thought of answering you in this thread because once again we are making the forums about some single member -- and that's just wrong.
The truth is, if I take a step back, these forums have operated with a lot more health, vitality, and less negativity/antagonism while he's been out. Seven got more than his fair share of provocation, of course. There are a lot of other guilty parties as well. But funny how that hasn't been much of an issue at all since Seven's been away. There's something to that, and I will vote for the good of the forums over the good of any one poster every time.

The other difference is that I decided to clamp down because it was getting out of control. We're human. We cannot be perfectly fair and balanced, consistent, and be everywhere at all times. So that's a little of why things come out that way.

I know it's too much to say hate and I totally understand what you say. But people are taking things way to serious, especially them selfs. Why should they feel attacked from a clown on a forum...
I still don't understand why Religion is such an important thing here and has to be the topic of most of the discussions. Religion is a lifestyle, people can choose it, why take it on this platform ,which is about football, so serious. I never read the religion topics and try to ignore it and the lets unban him or her stuff, but then again a new thread pops up out of nowhere out of these sections, hey lets discuss it again! As if it would bring any different result. It's annoying. In every second thread someone mentions Seven and wuhu again a Seven discussion, the mods join, have to justify their action again and in the end the thread is closed (great i just wanted to post something to the real topic), people might calm down but it always leaves a bitter taste.

Might as well bring back Seven. As I said, this discussion will never end until he's allowed back, so I don't know why the mods want to waste their time over this.
Sorry, but I have a right to voice my opinion that those who don't support their own national teams aren't real fans. I'm sorry if it's insulting to some folks, but that's just too bad. This isn't even an Azzurri forum but some like to masquerade around like it is.

Sadly the poll was deleted, otherwise you would have seen how wrong you were.
If it was a stupid ban, we'd complain about your ban. Mods can only explain it or it will be one off-topic forum. How do you know it wouldn't change? People don't bitch unless they think something was handled the wrong way. Andy had a perma ban. Burke had like 5 perma bans, they are here.

You can't say he attacks members and it's fault or even compare this to any other football forum. I don't see religion section there while if any members says a bad thing, it's the end of the road. But here it's not like that.

If so, how did that turned out to be? One member was banned, and it was expected to see. Other than that, what happened? We were banned for the most of the time and when we came we were warned not to do anything. We didn't.
