Come on Rab, a lot of them get upset by it. Just because you, me and some other 40-50 members know him and don't feel disturbed at all, it doesn't mean the others don't.
I'm here for a little less than 3 years and I've seen at least 100 members complaining about Burke's behavior.

But Hoori made a good point in the other thread and I think she deserves a reply.
Burke keeps making fun of Muslims, Juve, Religion, keeps provoking on purpose all the fucking time, creates double accounts, doesn't even care about Juve, but we accepted him as such, most of us love him the way he is and we don't even want him to change, but he's not getting banned while Seven makes fun of Muslims and religion, keeps provoking on purpose (and gets provoked, unlike Burke), creates double accounts, CARES about Juve and gets his info from here, but we aks him to change and he gets a permanent ban..

There's a point here actually(specially about the Juve parts). I would like to reply but I'll wait for Swag's reply first.

But it's not acceptable Rab. There are some lines you can't cross. All the infractions and bans are based on the regulation of the forum. If Seven has crossed them, Burke has crossed them as much (if not more). Still one is a mod and the other is banned for good.

He knows that I'll be the first one to open a new thread in the Mod section concerning his come back but he needs to get over some things and let it go. And I'm talking about the things he got banned for.

It's alright if someone doesn't get over a goddamn cartoon but you can't expect Andries not to get over him being treated like that.

Pretty desperate to even compare Burke and Seven btw, question why he is mod I understand, but to even compare them is laughable to me. I would have zero interest of thinking otherwise if Burke was remotely like Seven (doesnt mean never insulting, but to what a degree and level, taking it too far, derailing half the forum etc). I mean, seriously, how obvious isnt it?

And using Burke's alt acounts as argument shows what a laughable comparison it is.

Actually, talking strictly about being a mod, IMO, Burke is doing a better job than half the moderators. He was doing a better job than me, at least.
As for the rest, I think Hoori's comparisons are spot on.

This is why I think there's a point in your previous post. Though the way Andries provoke is more professional and hurts several members in a way, Burke's way is typical "I'm drunk/I'm in a good mood" which makes it look somehow acceptable to most of us. But yeah, I guess it doesn't mean others are not disturbed, which is why I said that Andries can always come back.

I really cant understand how you or Hoori would think they are comparable, despite liking Seven, you know yourself he deserved the bans he got (temporary at the time), ask yourself, when has you stopped and think "Burke should be banned, or went too far "? etc. The same Burke you are saying was a better mod then you (btw, I mean I understand questionning why Burke was made Mod, not now when he is).

So where is she spot on? On the surface it seems similar (someone insults, other one does = must be same, but not really, you judge each case for itself) but there are clear clear big difference in Burke's often time crude jesting (can be offputting for some, but clearly unserious and not "lets ban" worthy) and the stubborn level Seven takes his obbsession with and to where it leads pretty much all the time. You should seriously know this. Hence why I said a desperate argument, a very semantic one done just for the heck of it seems.

There's an easy solution. The hangout threads and the off-topic threads are where the regulars post. We, the regulars, shouldn't act like cry-babies when one of us says something we don't like and we should have the stomach for an occasional disagreement or even an insult.
But when one of us brings the religion or politics shit into the football topics, which are visited by far more members, regulars or non-regulars, then we should be warned or even temporarily banned.

Seven did exactly that. He started ruining the football topics with his shit and that's exactly why I publicly supported the decision to ban him (I thought it's a 3 week ban, though). If Seven, or anyone else, does that and ruins every topic, he won't get my support if he's banned for 1/2/3/4 weeks.

But a permanent ban?

Who hates who here Sabet? I for one love Osman and Ahmed, both of which disagree with what I say.

Does people discussing about religion too make you lose your interest in the forums? For most of the blood, tears and hatred stem from there but it's simple; those who hate such discussions should not involve themselves there.

Now, we're keeping this Seven discussion here and we try not to drag it to the other threads. It sure doesn't make people hate each other only because they don't have the same opinions about whether Seven should be unbanned or not.
