Marchionni: «Let us end this year greatly»

2008 for Marco Marchionni is ending on great note. The midfielder, having recovered from the physical problems faced last year, has proved himself to be a very important element in Ranieri’s formation and played really well even on Sunday against Milan, contributing in a decisive manner to the victory that re-launched Juventus in the role of anti-Inter: «There are many other matches, we must not think of Inter – Marco said while speaking to the microphones of Juventus Channel – On Sunday we showed that we are a great team, but even Milan is full of champions that can resolve matches at any moment and therefore even they are competing for the title».

This coming Sunday the bianconeri will play in Bergamo away to Atalanta, a difficult opponent: « It will be even more difficult then against Milan – continued Marchionni – Against the rossoneri the will comes automatically, whereas in view of Sunday we must be clever enough to “re-charge our batteries” in order to obtain a victory that would end 2008 greatly, a year which brought us a lot of satisfaction

Looks like marco gets another well earned start this weekend:(

I have an idea, let's see how many players that don't know how to cross well we can get into the starting XI....

he wasn't that bad tbh...could have been a bit more decisive, but considering how Nedved and Zanetti played, I would give Marco 6.5

He has 2 goals and 6/7 assists overall, I don't know what people expect him to do more.. He is a back up ffs
That's the point. He is a back up and he should play like one.

Sometimes it gets frustrating watching his bad judgement. I don't know if he is trying to prove a point, and kudos to him for having the determination. But he should try and be more simple and do stuff which he is capable of. Trying to dribble instead of passing, while everyone being aware of the outcome tends to annoy people who are watching.

I'm grateful for the amount of assists and goals he made, but he shouldn't try to do stuff which he isn't capable of. Him trying to make killer passes or dribbling 2 players does tend to end up with a stupid ball-loss.

He reminds me a bit of Davids, not in the way they play or so, but in the poor judgement of their ability. Davids was a wonderful destroyer to have, he had many abilities but instead of sticking to em, he kept on trying those fricking long-shots and he never scored on em. Stuff like that needs to be practised on the training-field, not in a match where the certainty of a ball loss is 99%

Marchionni knows he is a back-up and therefor he should play like one.
With that said, I'm actually one of the persons who think he has improved in his game.
