Not neccesarily. But anyway, his job is not to carry the torch. His job is to score, he only concentrates on scoring. Reminds me a lot of of Pippo Inzaghi with better physical attributes.

I know you like Toni like many else, but is he really the best choice out there ? Although I don´t like him as a a player I cannot deny his class. To me, he is not a step forward, he is even older than Trezeguet who has been exceptional for us. I doubt Toni can overtake him even if he has some better basic football skills. Toni is a temporary solution if Trezeguet leaves and Huntelaar is a long term solution, Oh, and Huntelaar is cheaper....
The scenario I proposed includes Trezeguet leaving. I would keep Trez at all costs, but IF he leaves was the basis of my post. Huntelaar is the future and I hope he can do the job the way we all hope he can, but at the same time, we are taking a huge gamble if we think that he is going to be our main goal scorer. I think if we replace Trezeguet with Huntelaar, we are really going to miss out on some goals. Toni will be good for four more years at least. At that point we will be able to sell him as well. I don't think there is a better replacement for Trezeguet out there than Luca Toni. To me, he is a step forward hands down.

Like I said before, a striking core of: Del Piero, Huntelaar, Palladino and Bojinov seems a bit weak for Serie A. I have faith in Palla and Boji but they need more time. A is much different than B and the Erevedise even. Three players are going to have to make big adjustments. That doesn't make me feel so good.

I agree completely. If Trezeguet stays, we keep the 20m we would have to spend to replace him, minus the 15 for selling and we could keep 5m in the kitty and possibly buy a better CB than Dainelli, who I suggested, or another attacking player like Robinho, Quaresma or Cassano.

5 Strikers is ideal. Palladino and Bojinov are still young and should see small amounts of playing time. Palladino should rotate with Del Piero and Bojinov should rotate at Striker and Side Midfield. Trezeguet and Huntelaar will share playing time with Del Piero behind feeding them. There is plenty of room. If players want to cry, that is there problem. We have to be prepared for every scenario. What if DP or Trez goes down? We will have to be ready for that. What if someone is on bad form? What if we need a formation adjustment mid-game to counter an overly defensive team?

first and foremost imo, Alex just doesn't cut it when he plays in a deeper role.He doesn't have the fitness for it or the speed and that will eventually effect his passing.
So then we would have two options. Either play a trident with either Huntelear or Trezi and with two supporting strikers.And we will have to lose our wingers(marchionni, salihamdzic).
Or play with a 442 and bench 3 of our forwards.
Palladino isn't that young and he knows hes attracting interest why would he stay on the bench for a while, same goes for Boji.
