Costs a lot and also he wants champions league football apparently.
After the last official club announcement, we've the cash sufficient to sign 3 or 4 world-class players including Ribery. Moreover, Ribery is just 24, fo him to play another season without being in the champions league, this is not the big issue.

    Buffon
Salihamidiz - Criscito - NEW Defender - Chiellini
Camoranesi - NEW CM - (FRINGS) - Nedved
    Trezeguet (or a new Forward) - Bojinov/del piero/palladino/new forward

I think we'll get a ned CB and two midfielders...

I'm not convinced of all the players whom we are linked to, but I'll try to think about a squad that can make us fix our feet on the Calcio's ground again. This is a temporary starting eleven, nevertheless.

    Buffon

    Grygera----Dainelli/Milito---Chiellini----Balzaretti/New LB

    Ribéry------Zanetti----Rosina/Almiron------Nedved

    Huntelaar----------Del Piero

    - Milito and Chiellini can't play together
    - Chiellini is better at LB
    - Center Mid would get owned

I forgot to add that Rosina doesn't play in that position either...he's an attacking mid. ok ok I'll stop.

We should try to compete with Milan, Inter and Roma...not Lazio and Fiorentina. ENOUGH MARK!!!

Seriously Mark, why that midfield line will get owned? Zanetti is a good DMF and as you said Rosina is an attacking midfielder, so it works, a little bit. :D

Another thing, why Militio and Chiellini can't play together in the centre?

I'm afraid with all the injuries Zanetti wouldn't be the same anymore + he's gonna be older, Pavel also.

Ribéry is excellent at attacking but not that good at defending, I prefer Camo since he does both very well.

Almiron is a Lazio type player but if played with a guy like Frings, Sissoko...the mid could do well.

Chiellini are Milito are both lefties and are more comfortable playing the Left Center Back position. I prefer having a righty on the right and lefty on the left. They get caught less flat footed from players coming from the flank...

Zanetti will have backups like Nocerino, Frings and Marchisio. But when it comes to Nedved, I haven't thought about a specific replacement yet.

Regarding Ribéry, I know that he doesn't defend well but his creativity and quickess - I mean his attacking abilities - may compensate for the lack of the defensive ones. I reckon that his role will be decided mainly depending on the rest of his midfield partners.

As for Militio and Chiellini, I don't know about Militio a lot but what you said is spot on, they can't play together. About Chiellini's position, I discussed it with Dominic before. I consider him a good left back and a butcher as well, a thing that I really like :)D). But his crosses are always errant, despite being left-footed. It annoys me when he runs and overtakes opponent's players and then fails to make an accurate cross.

I'm pretty sure if we have Frings in the team then Zanetti will be the one on the bench. I really like Nocerino so we either keep him and loan Marchisio or vice-versa.

Ribéry could also be used on the left since he already played there and can use both feet like Neddy.

I hate that too with the crosses from our LB's. Even Zambrotta wasn't to good on those.

    ciao!

@Stu, your squad is pretty good and realistic too, but I think that Barzagli hasn't been the one whom we used to see in the previous couple of years. Even when he was in his top form, he was a little bit overrated, in my opinion.

I reckon that adding Ribéry will generate more offensive impact to your squad.

By the way, where are Marchisio and Nocerino? :D

Marchisio is on loan somewhere. I've never seen Nocerino play but I've heard good things.

About Barzagli, I know he hasn't had the best of seasons but he has time to mature as a footballer and I'm confident he can do that here. He's certainly an upgrade to our current crop of centre backs to besides.

He is already 27, the peak of a football player. Of course, this isn't a rule, it differs from one to another, but his form this season hasn't encouraged me. In my opinion, all we need is a defence leader, not just beacuse of his abilities but also for his character. If there is a Cannavaro or Nesta-like player, that would be perfect.

I would only try to bring Diego, Ribery or someother bigname signing if it's worthy!
Maybe Momo for Almiron? Considering if we can't get him Almiron is fine by be.
We don't need changes upfront & the defence is solid!
You & me are probably the only guy that would place Hunter on bench in favour for Trez. Which is good decision!
If Chielini can play as a RB an Grygera already can as LB Iwould swap them as Grygera & Nedved would play in NT & they knoe eachothers!
You never know how many seasons Pavel have in him, does he retired from NT?

Grygera doesn't play LB and Chiellini doesn't play RB. If we get Frings we don't need Sissoko, we need more of a passer/creator.

And the only passer/creator whom we negotiate is only Almiron. I don't know about Ederson though.
