i think Boum is a much better defender than he showed last season...he looks like a confidence player...once he is mentally ok he should do a tremendous job...he has had a couple of bad seasons were his form has deserted him and he has had persistent injury problems...if he remains healthy i m sure he will do well for us

That is the thing with Boumsong, he has the potential to be a good defender as he has all the physical attributes but mentally he is all wrong. He is incapable of maintaining his concentration and so he is a total liability.

We have a player like him at Aberdeen but he is only 21 so lapses in concentration are forgivable, Boumsong is in his prime and should now be performing.

Get him out of Juve.

Boumsong isn't as bad as everyone makes him out to be. He would be a decent sub for one of the starters, and he has said that he wouldn't mind staying on the bench. Allez Jean-Alain!

How can so many people dimiss good players as 'not juve material' but then say that a joke of a defender is good enough as back up?

Doesn't make sense to me.

YES! Agreed, it's just incredible..
Also agree with your comment above, we shouldn't be forgiving a 28 year old such comedic errors which can strike at any time. Krapo was a French Intnl too and nobody crying over his departure..

Plus ppl are saying Boumsong's peformances last year weren't that bad - FFS - Do we really want a "not that bad in Serie B" defender lining up for us against Kaka or god forbid Ibra!!!

We are going to get owned if he plays next year - Fact I'm afraid.

Well one could argue the same for Legro.

Although tbh Legro sometimes gives that assurance in the back, sadly sometimes thats fake.

Boumsong proved he is a better player than ppl give him credit for last season, we only remember the times he made mistakes but forget all the games he was the best defender on the field.
i agree Legro isnt all that reliable himself...but its a case of the lesser of two devils here IMO..

I agree with Juve red,Boum has all the raw ingredients to be a good defender..But his lapses of concentration are so costly sometimes,he's not worth it.

He was more than not bad,he was even our best CB,behind Chiellini.
Even at that, our defense looked shite last year are you serious! WIthout Gigi we would still be in B..

Look I do admire Boum's spirit don't get me wrong it's just I don't think he cuts it and I am terrified of what a real attack will do to him..

If he stays I hope he makes me eat my words though. It's not that I like hating on any Juve player..

so on the same note we should send marchionni away ?

well its a risk with both of them, and one of them will stay am sure of that.We will just have to see which one wins ranieri's faith.

another note on boumsong, since he will be a backup defender then hopefully there will be a very good CB next to him in all times and that counts for a lot imo.And it is a position that we didn't see him in for a while( maybe only in france NT but not for a team)

How many Juve matches have you seen this year?I don't think we would still be in B without Gigi. Despite look at Boumsong's partners: Chiellini is still unexperienced at CB and young, Zebina is normally a RB,Kovac played rarely etc. My point is: His partners weren't that great either. I think with a good partner he would do good.

But again: Just as a sub.

how many games have YOU seen this season ??

I only missed 3 or 4, but I can tell you that he was responsible for many goals that we're scored against us

its nice how he convieniently stumbled right before most of the goals were scored against us ...thus the nickname "STUMBLES"

Verona may need a new defender down in C1, he'd be perfect

I have watched about 30 games of this season. Boumsong isn't the only one who is responsible for goals, you know the whole squad have to defend, not just the Cbs. But I guess it has no sence to discuss it with you. You think he is crap,I don't think so. So ...

Forza Juve,with or without Jean-Alain:pint:

Exactly..In Arsenal we have Senderos who's blunders are disasterous..but when he's partnerred with Kolo Toure he looks better as theres a good defender that covers up for his mistakes...But We're getting rid of Phil this summer,so i suggest Juve do the same;)

As I said abv man - I support any Juve player at the end of the day. I saw most matches though! ;-)

Our opinions just differ here.. Your point about his partners last season is well made/taken and if he doesn't mind being behind Cristico in the pecking order then just for staying in B I will yield and be for him..

its not only to cover his mistakes in plays, with many defenders its always an issue with confidence and minor mistakes. Something that a good defender could have a lot on impact on.

anyway this is very interesting imo, so we will see whether he is there next season or not.

Boumsong linked with Fenerbahce - eurosport news

he wants to stay with the club, he is not scared of fightin for his place. i know he makes mistakes but he loves the club and wants to prove himself, i say give him the chance, he might really learn something from our new arrivals and in 1 year we may all be eating our words, think of it as a last chance for boumsong until january transfer window, if hes going ok then i dont see why we should sell him, after all he joined us for serie b, now thats love!
