He does. There are only few modern defenders who like to slide a lot these days. The trend is more to get the ball rather than pushing it away from the attacker.

I personally love a nice sliding tackle. Used to do it for hours on the muddy training fields. It's probably not the best option in terms of building up, but it's nice to watch and fun to do too!
i think when a player likes to slide means that loves to defend and croatia defenders have that passion of defending thats why they always have strong defence,
and i know how much its fun to slide because i love to defend :p

Another bullshit signing, very average defender, just like Mellberg someone who will not really improve our side. Kudos to our inept and sorry excuse of management once again.
i know that hes not big name but juve used to buy average looking players and make them really good in their team and the best example... montero or sissoko

sissoko have never performed the way he did with us the last year and he knew that he would never play this way in any other team because the strength of our team is the unite, not in the individuals

inter sucked for many years because they only care about the individuals and big singing more than the team unite and it cost them alot.

Are you serious about Mellberg? It's alright to be skeptical about our signings but I think you're too premature to state it'll be another bullshit signing.

Wonder how you will say if he then proves you're totally wrong ?

He was bought as a backup though, I doubt he'll be a starter.
How man backups do we need? We have Andrade, Legrottaglie, Mellberg, Chiellini, Criscito and now this guy. We have one defender with quality in Chiellini and a bunch of their slightly above average or average defenders.

Sissoko did perform the way he does with us a couple years ago, look at the Barca game with Pool.

I hope he does prove me wrong, IF HE EVEN PLAYS!

I'm calling it a bullshit signing because it looks like that. We all hope I'm wrong, dude.

Criscito will probably stay with Genoa for another year, and we all know Andrade is most of the time injured. So with Legro, Chiellini, Mellberg and Knezevic we're covered at the CB position. That doesn't mean I wouldn't want a new starting CB though.

Well covered? We have cover for two teams!

It's not that he's a "bad signing" or "bad player" so to speak, but it's just that Knezevic doesn't add anything. Nothing besides back up that we already have.

For sure our centerback pairing will be Mellberg - Chiellini now. We'll see how it works out, but I don't know about Mellberg...

We'll see how will Melberg adapt to the Serie A. But if he plays like he did for Aston Villa, I'd say that we would have a quite good partnership at the CB.
