I don't think my kind of knowledge (or is it wisdom when gained through experience?) is something that a child should be confronted with. All I know is that when I see a child smile and I honestly can't remember if I ever smiled like that myself then I'm in no position to raise children.

EDIT: There's a canyon opening up between the title of this thread and it's current subejct now :D

if you've gained the wisdom, you'll surely use it to your benafit. i'm not saying u should raise your child the way u were. you know what buttons not to push when being a father. this'll surely help. you'll make a great father, but on one condition: that is, you do not have unresolved issues within yourself right now. in other words, you should be sure that you've gained full wizdom from your experiences NOT TO TREAT YOUR OWN THE SAME WAY. if you're not at piece then you should be worried that you'll pass on these problems to your kid.

It has nothing to do with my own parents though, they were about the only positive factor (if all parents were like that, there would be much fewer ****ed up kids) but that's all I'm going to say about it, I don't want to open up this can of worms any further.

However, I've far from really dealt with it and I know (as you said) that it would have SOME sort of impact on any attempt from my side to raise a child. Figured I should just not then, take the safe route.

EDIT: That's an interesting point here that has come up though: am I the only one who doesn't want to have children around here??

Speaking of which, maybe this thread should be merged with the "leaders 4 the future" thread

IIRC, he's part Iranian.

Ali Daei ;) ... Actually, I'm pretty sure there are more Ali's in Iran than the biggest Arab country.
