What do you guys make of the Arizona to Utah franchise move?

The Coyotes had no plan B, and the spot they were choosing for the arena and surrounding infrastructure made no sense.

They could either be the 6th most popular team in Arizona, behind the cardinals, diamondbacks, sun's, wildcats and sun devils, or

Be the 2nd most popular team in a fairly large city.

Hockey in Arizona was just a bad idea from the start.

They couldn't even sell out a 5000 seat college arena. That's all you need to know

I think the franchise will do well in Utah. There are some parallels with the Jazz in terms of lots of future picks and young players on the table and chance to rebuild. It's clear the situation was affecting the players so something needed to change.

I kind of have a love/hate relationship with Ryan Smith as he has lots of ambition and vision but for me it doesn't always come across well or successfully. He will definitely put more funds on the table than has been available.

I'm just about old enough to remember the move to Arizona in the first place and always thought it was a very weird move.

No words to describe how much I love drafting Saku's boy :touched:

They were given a chance at redemption after passing on Michkov last year
A big reason for the Habs being okay with drafting Demidov has a lot to do with what happened with Michkov this off-season. He singed his ELC 2-3 years earlier than everyone thought.

If teams knew that going in last year, he wouldn't have made it past #2.

He also heavily implied that he only wanted to go to Philadelphia
