1) We don't have the brute strenght in defense required to play Oates' collapsing system. It's effective if you're organized and strong enough, the players have shown themselves to be inadequate. Furthermore the goalie performances have been very fluctuating. In the system Oates uses it's all about allowing shots on goal but keeping the net clear of attackers so the goalie can pick the pucks.
2) I have no idea what he's trying to do with Ovechkin. The guy is not a RW and will never be one.
3) Weak mentality when facing tests, we don't just concede one goal, we concede 2-4 in a row after the first one.
