    btw whos ur fav player??
My favorite player in the sport of hockey will always be Steve Yzerman... he is simply Detroit Sports in a nutshell. I'm originally from Detroit and my feelings for them are just about equal to that of Juventus... his accomplishments mean so much to the city it's indescribable.

And as you know, Dearborn is home for many Arabs in the States, and I know a few who love the Red Wings. :pint:

I was close to meeting him at an autograph session, however I was unlucky and I couldn't obtain his autograph. But he's still such a professional my love for him doesn't change.

Dearborn has by far the most ethnic Arab population per capita in the US, and despite how the American media makes them out to be, it's a nice place. I cannot wait to visit there again and enjoy some of the Arab and Lebanese cuisine. :lick: Too many people here think that city is some sort of joke.

Dearborn is all history and culture.

Dude, think Pizza Pizza with crispy crust. It's somewhat traditional, but modern. It blows my mind. If you're in Southern Ontario, go to Pizza Nova next time.

    God I love pizza...and hockey.
time to take a ride down to Buffalo, Max

our pie blows away Pizza Nova and Pizza Pizza (I should know !!) :agree:

I'm talking fast pizza places, not sit-in pizzerias. But what place are you talking about? :D

The best pizza (besides mom's homemade) I've ever had in a pizzeria would be some place in Little Italy (New York City). I forget what it was called, it was named after an Italian last name (not Lombardi's), but now I can't remember.

This Pens - Leafs game is one of the best I've seen in a while. The Staal - Malkin - Crosby trio is by far the best young trio of players I have ever seen.

Remind me not to meet Petrovicky in a fight though.

I didn't watch this game for the most part because I've been studying all night for midterms, but I heard the Leafs came back from a 3-0 deficet, took a 4-3 lead, and then lost 5-4 in overtime. Did Raycroft have a shitty game, or was it mostly McCabe errors...sorry, defensive errors?

    Who's ass did Petrovicky kick?

New York has the thin crust pizza's going on...

our's are thicker than that...and taste better !!

When I was in NYC back in the summer of 2003 for the Juve games against Manure and Milan, I had a debate with some older Italian guy on a pizzeria patio about who had the better pizza, Buffalo or NYC

Growing up in hockey crazy Sweden, I was a big Kings and Red Wings fan. I remember I used to watch them religiously just like Juve, and I remember that everyone would buy and trade cards and stuff. Good times :)

After moving to the States I slowly stopped watching for some reason but I still check how the Red Wings are doing from time to time. My favorite players growing up were Hasek, Gretzky, Yzerman, Blake, Lidström, Näslund, Sudden (Sudin), Federov, and Konstantinov. (Never liked Foppa in the NHL because he played for the Avalanche :yuck: ).

Actually I think the final score was 6-5, and I can't really say anybody had a bad game as I mostly watched the third period. But from what I saw nobody was having a bad game... it was just one of those classic hockey matches that are simply all action and fantastic plays. The goals the Pens scored were particulary well taken.

Petrovicky almost killed some guy on your team, I forget who it was. But he was knocked out after a ridiculous few punches by Petro and the guy was out cold for a while on the ice. Pretty scary. They eventually took him to the hospital and hopefully he'll recover soon... nobody likes seeing that. But the NHL has seen a lot of ridiculous injuries from fights lately. Somebody was even knocked out yesterday as well.

It was 6-5, you're right. They came back and had the lead twice, only to buckle in OT. Classic...

The guy who got wrecked was Kris Newbury. No biggie, he's just a call up. :D He's gonna be fine though, so that's good.

How is Detroit as a town?

I've read that the players only come to Detroit to play the games and that actually live in other towns outside because Deotroit is so unsecure.

That's absolutely correct. The only nice part of Detroit nowadays is along the Detroit River on Jefferson Avenue, which is northeast of downtown Detroit. The rest of the city is basically slums... absolutely terrible really. Most of the Red Wings live in Bloomfield Hills or Novi, which are towns North of the city.

Detroit used to be a great city, however now it has really deteriorated. This can blamed upon the decline of US auto manufacturers and also insanely inept local and State governing. Not to mention partly due to Republican agendas applied to Liberal states, but that's another matter.

One of the last places you'd want to find yourself lost in is Detroit... believe me. But the suburbs are beautiful.
