Category: General

Today the new official Black and White strip for the 2007/2008 season was presented at the Villar Perosa Sport Centre, before the Juventus–Biellese friendly.

The home shirt, with the typical vertical black and white bands, also has red details ("pimento") decorating the collar rim, the sleeves and the bottom hem together with the Nike logo. The away shirt is blue and is inspired by the official colours of the city of Turin.

“Nike and Juventus are ready to live a new exciting adventure together - Andrea Rossi, Nike Italy's Marketing Director declared – The Home shirt is inspired by the appeal and the glory of this club. The red details enrich the design and are meant to express the grit and determination that have always characterized this Club, the most loved and most successful in Italy”.

The body of the shirt is made of a technical fabric called Nike Sphere, which is extremely light and breathable, and reduces adherence by keeping sweat separated from the skin. The width of the bands is wider than the 2006/2007 shirt, and the collar has a new, more pronounced "V" shape.

The shirt is embellished by a few decorative elements such as the Juventus logo and "Bianconeri" written on the bottom left part of the shirt, on the internal rim and under the collar, together with the foundation year.
The two stars, symbolizing the 20 plus titles won in the history of the Italian League, are placed on the left shoulder.

The New Holland (a firm of the FIAT group) sponsor logo is located at the centre of the shirt. The kit also includes white shorts with a black profile and red details on the swoosh and on the strings, similar to those found on the shirt, and the new socks sporting horizontal black and white bands.

The away shirt is blue and is inspired by the official Turin city colours. The Nike logo, the two bands that frame the sponsor on the chest area and the sleeve rims are all yellow.

Just like the home shirt, the Juventus logo and the word "Bianconeri" are located in the bottom left part of the shirt, as well as in the internal rim and under the collar alongside the foundation year. Shorts and socks are light blue with the Nike logo and details in yellow.

The new strip will be available to buy tomorrow from all the main official Nike retailers.

Could somebody tell me why these boring, average shirts were delayed from being released? Are they really that special? Idiotic move by our sales department.
