Even with Almiron added in, £15m still seems a substantial amount. I hope they still have money in the bank for a creative/attacking midfielder and a right-back.

Another reason for buying him other than leveraging on his talent is to prevent Milan and Inter from getting their hands on him.

Cassano would certainly be interesting to watch next season in Juve jersey, but if its a price for someone else, that i wouldnt like it. If it change our other targets than i would be very happy if he comes, I dont think he would continue his circus here, and he is one of the most talented players in Italy.

Cassano should have come here in 2006.his contract with roma was expiring but he choose to join real madrid in january and fucked up his career.now he is 27 and we know sometimes he is still acting like a brat on pitch.Del Piero could be good mentor for him though.

FFS if Cassano is going to be our ''promised'' player
it seems so

Cassano + a right back + couple of youngsters and we are done

Or how about this:

Marchisio Sissoko
Del Piero Cassano Giovinco
Amauri
Thats pretty much how I figure us to play

Amauri
Cassano Del Pie Camo
Marchi Sissoko

or

Amauri
Cassano Delpie
Marchi Sissoko Tiago/Camo

I think we'll rotate formations next year...tinkering all year long...

Gio as sub to Cassano or Delpie
Iaquinta can replace Amauri or Camo
Trez is direct replacement of Amauri

I love the idea of DP-Cassano-Giovonco behind Amauri! Wow, thats creativity all the way. Seeing how injury prone Camo is, this could be a solution!

We won't play 4-2-3-1 with Ranieri, it could be with Spalletti on the bench, but I don't want to see my team conceding frequently 3 goals or more, up to 7 in CL. Secco and Ranieri confirmed also, that we'll stick with 4-4-2.

I think it will be that for next season:

-------------Cassano-Amauri-------------
----------(Del Piero)-(Iaquinta)-----------
-Giovinco-----------------------------------
(De Ceglie)-Sissoko---Zanetti---Camoranesi
-------------(Poulsen)(Marchisio)(Salihamidzić)
-----------------------------------------------
Molinaro----Chiellini--Legrottaglie--Zuniga?
(Criscito)--(Mellberg)-(Andrade?)-(Zebina)

If we don't terminate Andrade's contract, we won't buy any expensive CB for sure, rather another Knezević (I rather hope for another Stendardo though). I'm not sure if Trez stays also, he or Iaquinta will probably leave...

I am 100% sure we will buy a prolific midfielder as well.

As long as we grab Silva, Diego or Ribery, and also at least on decent defender, I will be happy with the Cassano part exchange with Almiron. We don't need him as much as we need players in other positions, that is obvious, but he can be a wicked player on his day and he will certainly add some much needed creativity to our game.

It seems we're trying to make "deals" with 2-3 players for 1 position and in the end we chose the one who's cheaper or is more suitable for the coach's tactics.
Instead of concentrating on 1 players we try to make some sort of deals with these players and not focus entirely on other positions we really need like a RB...

The guy who's more "ready" to join us is Silva. I don't know the word(intermediate?) but we're using this guy(Segui) who's helping us in this case. We're monitoring also Diego closely and Cassano a bit less. In the end they'll meet up and chose one player that fits our bill or the one that didn't get away.

If that's the case it'll be Cassano.I mean,Silva might like us and everything but I'm afraid we'll have a hard competition for him.I think he'll end up in England in the end.

I don't think many clubs will consider Cassano and that will bring him here.

Jack's formation is tempting though.I'd like to see something like that but it all depends if Cassano stays in this good mood.

CR is just a pawn, they guy who is easier to get will be announced as the ideal for our tactics afterwards. Just like we did with Poulsen.
Thats why we got CR and sacked DD in the first place. DD would present a list with his priorities, thus making it clear how our board failed to met our objectives.
Our tactical needs are not an issue here, history has already proved that!
Our tactical needs are adjusted by the left overs we are forced to buy and use...

Our priority will be Cassano, make no mistake, we have probably already made a kind of pre-deal with Doria, like we did with Amauri, because thats our owner's personal choice, for their own personal reasons (biases and personal affection to his rebel character who reflects theirs and belief to his once promising/talented prospect).

Silva could be more affordable, because he might be cheaper, his ankle injury made him seem less reliable and Valencia have some financial issues, they are very smart at these kind of business, they might know smth we dont know about his condition. He prestige status is lesser than the hyped Diego and Ribery, thus making him easier to get, since we are likely to face less competition because of that (comparing to the hyped players) and he might not have crazy and unrealistic expectations for titles.

If Valencia seems confident that Silva can attract some more high bidders(Liverpool), they will ask for more cash than we can spare (the rests of the cash we will have after the Cassano deal) They know that this is the best possible moment to cash in big from Silva due to the promise his carries at this age. His double wing effectiveness is an added bonus that make him even more valuable. So are his NT goals (who are getting somewhat old now)...

At any case, if we fail to buy him, our board will force CR to come up with an expected pre-fabricated excuse, like the ones who uses post-match.
I guess that he will say that Silva wouldnt be effective enough, defensive-wise to fit our plans, that we will give more chances to our forgotten champion-to-be, Giovinco and that Neddy has been convinced to extend for one more year...

After 3 years, we know enough to predict our board's moves/tactics/pattern/excuses...

Having Cassano, Giovinco, Del Piero and Amauri is the less attractive version (name-wise) of last season's Barcelona when they had Ronaldinho, Henry, Messi and Eto'o.
Of course, Barcelona couldn't use all of them in the same line-up and neither could we.

But who says that we must use all of them in the same line-up? If the coach is willing and intelligent enough to rotate the attackers smartly, then we might find ourselves with a killer attack on every single match.
Using 4-3-2-1 we can have all these combinations:
1. Cassano-Del Piero-Amauri
2. Cassano-Giovinco- Amauri
3. Del Piero-Giovinco-Amauri
4. Cassano-Del Piero-Trezeguet
5. Cassano-Giovinco-Trezeguet
6. Del Piero-Giovinco-Trezeguet

With this we solve the problem with our wingers. Considering Camo's injuries, we don't have to think about new MR and we don't have to think about a direct Neddy replacement.

Of course, a 4-3-2-1 requires more attacking full backs. But one good and attacking full back might be enough. For example, Barcelona don't have two attacking full backs. Buying Zuniga for the RB position might solve this little problem.

To make myself more clear, a change to 4-3-2-1 means that Cassano and Zuniga are enough. Considering how both of them play in Italy and we can involve some of the unneeded players we have, we might have a lot of money left to improve even the central defense.

Buying only a direct replacement for Nedved (lets say Silva) and keeping the 4-4-2, means that we will spend just as much money as in my suggestion above, it leaves us with Giovinco certainly sitting on the bench and it leaves us with the MR problem.

Come on Cronios, i know you don't like my suggestion. Lets hear why. :p
