yeah,to me cassano is a support striker who loves to lean to the left like DP
and Gio is an attacking midfielder who loves to lean to the left like Neddy

both cassano and gio can be in the same formation but theres no space for DP then.
Sure, i said the same few days ago. The only problem about Cassano is that he can be rotated only with our best player. (unless we play 4-3-3, but that way one of Cassano-Del Piero-Giovinco will have to sit on the bench). Having Cassano's quality in mind, if we buy Cassano then our second best player can only be a direct sub to our best player.
Buying Cassano in the summer of 2010 would be logical and great, buying him this summer might be a problem and a luxury.

im honoured:tup:

its a bit strange but i was thinking exaclty the same thing about Cassano in 2010 and not earlier

next season DP would be regular and cassano can play left mid in 4-4-2...hes suitable for 4-4-1-1 or 4-3-3.
so,although i bit crazy i dont care sooo much about neddys replacement
we still have Gio DC and hopefully Neddy for one more season....world class defenders is what i need.

Yes, and this is why we first and foremost should improve our right side before doing anything else. We can't count on Camoranesi and Zebina being fit, which forces us to play Grygera and Marchionni.

Assuming that we'll play some form of 4-4-2, I'd rather go for say, Hleb and Zuniga, than burn 25 million on Diego or Cassano this summer.

I'm not so sure if he'll stay in Sampdoria for another year if we don't buy him this summer.

And if we buy him in 2010 he'll be 28 so I don't really like that.We need someone on who we can count for much longer considering it's Del Piero's heir we're talking about.

That boy keeps impressing. His attacking skills are amazing. It's hard to believe that this guy is originally a defender, but yesterday against Fiorentina he played a perfect match in defense.

There is always a risk that he might end up to be a one season wonder like Vargas, but the quality is there to be seen and it can't be doubted. Taking risks pays sometimes and in our situation with the RBs it certainly can't be worse than what we have.

Vargas was a big fish in a small pond. He was a playmaker, fullback and winger and the team would cover for him as soon as he joined the attack. His left foot is very good but overall he doesn't have that much to his game.

Zuniga seems more complete. His playing style is more humble and I don't think he would have much trouble playing RB for us. Like you say, we wouldn't lose much.

Look at this:

Buffon
Kick ass RB - World Class CB - Chiellini - One hell of a LB
Camoranesi Marchisio Poulsen
Giovinco Cassano
Amauri/Benzema

I don't think we should wait much longer to buy Cassano. Let's face it, Ale would be 35 years old next year and cannot be expected all much less most of the games. Cassano is still relatively young, and insanely talented. If we don't buy him this summer, some other team will. He won't stay at Samp for sure. Waiting another year really isn't an option if we want to realistically get the guy.

It's amazing how after just one game, a player dubbed by all Juve fans as a complete flop is now in the future plans of our team.

With Ranieri in charge, a 4-3-2-1 seems unlikely but it does look far more attractive. In fact, I think we should play it now.

agreed, if we get Cassano, this is the way to go.

BUT, we won´t buy a LB, cause CR is in love with Molinaro, so better to concentrate on the RB (e.g. Zuniga) and a CD (e.g. Santacroce...) positions.

maybe Poulsen/Sissoko, we will see.

I like it but the question is what world class CB?

Not many people said Poulsen is a flop but I just said he was never needed and still don't think he is. One match or five, wouldn't matter to me.

It is possible to use Cassano as a left middlefielder. Then Giovonco goes to attack with Amauri/Iaquinta.

If we keep Giovinco and DP and the 4-4-2, Cassano surely doesnt fit.
So one of the three parameters should leave the equation...

Cassano and Giovinco are not prolific enough to be used as the SS in a 4-4-2...
