Cobolli: Yes, Juve want Cassano

Juventus President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli confirms “Antonio Cassano is a great talent and we can’t help but be interested in him.”

The talk of a summer swoop for the Sampdoria starlet has been going for many months and is gaining momentum as time goes on.

The Bianconeri are no longer even denying they would like to snap up the former Roma and Real Madrid man.

“Cassano is a great talent and Juve can’t help but be interested in such a player,” explained President Cobolli Gigli.

“As for the transfer market, we have decided to name no more names. We will approach it from a subtle stance.

“The economic crisis is also hitting the football world and I think there will be more exchanges than usual.

“Juve nonetheless have every intention of investing an adequate sum for a great champion who can replace [Pavel] Nedved. We are working in that direction and that is where we will spend the most money.”

There were reports in the Corriere dello Sport on Friday that Juventus would tempt Cassano in exchange for Sebastian Giovinco and £12m cash.

“This is just newspaper talk,” assured Bianconeri director of sport Alessio Secco on Nuova Spazio Radio.

“We are happy with Giovinco’s performance and happy he is at Juventus. He is a treasure owned by this club and will remain with us.”

Its lovely news. Warming to the heart...but if we do get Cassano, surely he will expect to play, and who would lose out...Del Piero, Amauri, Trezeguet, Iaquinta +Cassano.

Someone must be leaving. Most likely Iaquinta. As he seems fourth choice after DP, Trez and Amauri. And would be relegated to fifth choice if Cassano arrives.

Its important to note the mention of exchange in the report from Cobolli. Who could we be part exchanging for Cassano****

Getting Cassano means the beginning of the end for Sandro. No doubt about it I'm afraid.

Fuck, I can't do this, I really can't.

Getting Cassano means the beginning of the end for Ale.

I wouldn't mind him alternating with Del Piero. I also think he could tempt Ranieri to go berserk and try a 4-3-1-2, in which Giovinco could share the behind the strikers role with Cassano, also gaining more playing time on the left wing, if Silva gets injured or scalped. I quite like that idea, though Ranieri probably does not.

I believe Cassano and Del Piero/Giovinco can coexist in a 4-3-2-1 formation.

With Nedved retiring, Camo unable to stay injury free for three games in a row, Marchioni and Salihamidizic are average at best I can see no reason to play 4-4-2, or lets say we don't have the best collection of players to play 4-4-2.

The only problem we will face with 4-3-2-1 is our weak fullbacks as such formation require fullbacks capable of both attacking/defending.

Buffon
???? Zapata Chiellini ????
Marchisio Tiago Sissoko
Cassano Del/Gio
Amauri

as long as we keep Giovinco and CR let him play I´ll be happy with Cassano.

Buffon

???? - ???? - Chiellini - Molinaro

Camo - Sissoko - Marchisio

Cassano - Giovinco/DP

Trez/Amauri

add a good RB and a WC CD and we´ll be fine

President no man. Cassano is a crisis. Juve nonetheless have money. Giovinco is just happy.

Makes sense.
