Next season DP will be 35 years old. If we expect him to start every game next seaso we will win nothing. We need to use him sparringly and Having a player like Cassano will allow us to play Ale when we need him and to have a future after Ale retires. Giovinco is good but he is not a striker and can't replace DP in the team.. or Nedved for that matter as he is not a LM.

We should not be thinking about simply being able to bring in new players and play exactly the same as we always have. WIth Giovinco and Cassano we could have an attack that looks like:

------Giovinco-----


This is could arguable be as good as NEdved, Ale and Trez.. but not the same and we should not expect it to be as every player has different characteristics. Cassano has grown up and is in great form. We can get him at a good price and he is a world class player who could slot into any team in the world.
