I used to be a massive chelsea fan in the days of desailly, zola and hasselbaink...
But since abramovich has come and totally changed the team...I am really starting to dislike them...they are now way more arrogant than b4 and have simply bought their way to the top...I do not feel that they will have the legacy of teams such as Man U and Liverpool who bottom line are top clubs with a solid fan base and huge intl. support...Chelsea will only have "temporary" fans who just like to see so many superstars play together...love to read your thoughts guys

used to like Chelsea when they had so many Italian players. They were my favourite English team. I can't stand them now. Arrogant bunch. I wonder how many fans they lost, even though they got many part-time fans taking a holiday from Inter.

don't know why people hate 'em so much. it's not the club's fault, let alone the supporter's, that one morning a russian millionaire woke up and decided to buy a club. chelsea was always a good club with amazing supporters in my book. i was never a fan, but i respect them and i don't think they deserve, the fans at least, the bashing they get all the time.

and btw, forza mourinho. :toast:

i have nothing against life long supporters. its just that theres loads and loads and loads of fairweather fans these says. and the people in the club are ignorant and arrogant bastards. having chelsea tv at home sure makes it easier to hate them.

If you ask me I don't hate them, in the matter of fact I respect coach and players very much. I just don't like gridy and arogant Abramovich...

i know what you are saying, but imo the exact same thing can be applied to barca. everyone seems to be a barca fan nowadays.

100% agree V, chelsea have always spent heavily on players way before abramovich's arrival & their previous squads always had the potential to do great things.

Cech,Terry,Lampard & Joe Cole arrived there during russian revolution & they are the back bone of the chelsea team.Ranieri flopped with the players at his disposal & Jose Mourinho only implemented a strong sense of success & team ethic.Yes the money spent is ridiculous but nobody complained when man utd spend millions on the likes of ruud van nistelrooy, rio ferdinand & wayne rooney.

As most mentioned,i started to like chelsea due to all their italian serie a imports & i still have a liking for the club.

its got nothing to do about which club is more established, ppl will always "support" a winning team.i have friends in their mid 30's & they will tell u that a large amount of man utd fans used to be liverpool supporters before man utd's dominace in the epl.

barcelona have always had "gloryhunter" fans & that trend will continue as they have a strong liking for south american players & brizilians in particular.

actually i think that Lampard and Terry were already with Chelsea. Terry was definately with Chelsea youth team. But Lampard was with West Ham, but i though they bought him before Abramhovic

You forgot Carrick in that list

I've always liked Chelsea ever since mid 90's and even after Abramovic taking over. Everyone who hates Chelsea now is because they envy their superstars on bench, and it got nothing to do with how "arrogant" or whatever the fuck you people call them. Thats just a fucking pathetic excuse.

Seriously, how can anyone point to the Chelsea of yore and say "Look, they spent millions too!" When they became Chelski, they laid out £200m on players, driving players out of the price range of teams like Man Utd FFS. There's big club, and then there's buying the league.

Want to know the difference between Man Utd and Chelski? Man Utd's money came from their many, many fans supporting their product. Chelski's came from oil wells stolen from the people of Russia.

What's more, Chelsea of old were a pleasant team, played good football, had likeable people involved. Chelski have been involved in a number of cases of tapping up players, were forced to pay out £10m for a player who they got to break his contract, have dived, whinged and spent again to win a couple of EPL titles in a style of football that makes most purists sick (especially given the fine passing football of Arsenal and Man Utd before them) and have an overbearing arrogance that gets up plenty of people's goat.

Finally, old Chelsea had Zola, the coolest man alive.
