What we have to remember is, if we do end up getting Cassano - and we keep Mutu (say swap Miccoli instead), I doubt Mutu will get that much playing time anyway.

I would much prefer to get rid of Miccoli anyday, but I think if Cassano does come, the main 3 strikers will be Cassano, Zlatan and Trez. The rest will only get bit parts as far as I can see.

So, while I understand that people want Mutu to stay - with Cassano here I can't see him getting much time on the pitch at all. So does it really matter if we get rid of him or Miccoli?

Apart from strengthening Roma more that is.

You're obviously forgetting Mutu has the speed, agility and talent to play the role out wide. Something we're not well covered in at all. Especially with an ageing Nedved, who to me is no longer the 90 minute player anymore. If Mutu plays wide, and Cassano - Ibra play up front I think it'll be a well defined equation even in a 4-4-2 system. Trez is equally effective as a supersub. Nedved would definitely be more effective off the bench as far as I'm concerned.

By the way, the latest developments or rumours suggest that a mega deal is in the offing for Cassano and Mancini. Apparently Juventus have bought an under 20 Brazillian forward to add to the equation, although I dont know how much that would be worth believing. And yes, Spalleti wants Mutu more than he does Miccoli, although lets hope Moggi can convince him otherwise.

January is the best time to sign him, cos by then trez will be out injured, zala will be gone, mutu playing left wing.....then we may need cover for DP :cheesy:

january wud be he worst time to sign him.
i doubt wether he himself wud want to change clubs only 6 months before the wc.
what difference does it really make, he is a virtual certainty for te worldcup baring injury or mega form from DP, Michele, DYo and others.
