Perez Open To Cassano Move, But Next Year
11/8/2004 5:14:00 PM

Real Madrid chairman Florentino Perez postponed all possibilities of an Antonio Cassano move from Rome to the Spanish capital to next summer.
“The last time we heard Roma with regards to transfer market activity was last summer when we bought Samuel. We have a great relationship with Roma, its management team, and the Sensi family. With regards to Cassano, we will eventually deal for his signature next year, now there are competitions taking place,” said the Real Madrid chairman.

Perez had announced last week that Real Madrid were not going to buy any players during the January transfer window as ‘it’s a Real policy not to sign players during the year.”

Cassano was already linked to Real Madrid last summer, however back then Roma were not ready to sell their 22 year old player.

Things are different now, as after months of various fits and misbehaviours on behalf of their ‘Peter Pan’, the Roma management appear resigned to the fact that Cassano’s era with AS Roma is over.

Chelsea, Juventus, Inter, and Milan have all been indicated as other possible destinations for Italy’s best player in Euro 2004.

Goal. com is also reporting a real move for robinho. So that should effectively seal Cassano's fate as regards a transfer to Madrid, in january at least.

picking up an unproven young talent doesn't exactly sound like real's style...
He certainly fits the "name that everyone knows/will know in a few years" description though

erm, yes he does because he is the manager. alot of you have been saying, he'll leaves cause he is unhappy, so why would he go to Juve to be more unhappy?

you DO know that Cassano doesnt like Capello?
Ahh, how so? I thought Cassano got along with Capello rather well before the latter decided he had enough of the Roman circus. If Antonio does not like Capello, then he must dispise every coach in Italy, because he surely hates Del Neri and that useless barbarian Voeller.

Emerson and Zebina? Cos they were smiling to each other during the Juventus and Roma game. Both Emerson and Zebina patted Cassano's head and they offered to hold him up even if they did a foul on him.

Well, you say he doesnt like Capello. He did play for Roma for 2 years, under Capello, dint he? And besides, he won precious little. So i dont see how moving to Juve would make him unhappy. He's only going to win more than he ever imagined. ;)

cassano knows that juve would never allow the kind of behaviour he displays at roma.davids got the boot, and zlatan has cleaned up his act ever since come coming here.

if he does indeed have a problem with capello as Nicole said,we can forget about seeing him in juve.

he did have numerous fallouts with capello in those 2 years period. sounds like an unhappy environment to me. why would he go through it again even at Juve? i dun think winning football title potential is top priority for Antonio Cassano... if he is so determined to win, he would have been more focuse on his football , listen to Capello', Del Neri or Voeller's tactical instruction... he certainly wont miss football practise just becose the coach advise you not to make backheels too much...

Nicole where did you get this knowledge about Cassano? From some romanista thread?

Capello brought the best out of Cassano while he was in charge. The lad is smart enough to see that with Capello he could become a great Champion.
