if anything,things will probably be even more tougher for him with cassano's arrival.with mutu around,he had to compete for a place in juve's lineup with a romanian.
with cassano's arrival,del piero will have to compete with an italian,a player who will take up his role in the NT at the world cup.both of them would want to be in italy's squad for the wc,and cassano is more or less guaranteed a place for the wc unless he doesnt have the worse season of his life or unless he gets injured right before the wc.
a fellow italian's arrival make things even more tougher for del piero,with respect to the national team and the wc squad.

Mark, I've screamed myself hoarse on the last 20 pages here, about how illogical it would be to trade Mutu in. I've thought of Micco + Chiellini and 8m to be more realistic as well. So if you got any sources, dont forget to put em up here as always. I dont see Cassano coming before the 31st either. By the way calciomercato and channel4 both mentioned Mutu, but these stories have happened before and theyve fluctuated between Mutu and Miccoli. So still hoping its the latter.
