Basically, the Lakers forgot about creating max space in the AD trade and went back to the Pelicans to try and rework the trade

You get the feeling that this team is going to win a title in the next couple of years in spite of itself.

it would be the ultimate troll jobs in sports

This is SUCH a good look for free agents. The only thing worse than this is if the trade gets cancelled.

And then that is the last straw. I would disown this franchise until Jeanie sells the team.

I dont understand how a group of people who are paid for this stuff can make such a huge miss, which half the NBA fanbase (atleast the ones that follow this a bit more in detail) are aware off. How did it come this far, a bunch of retards running the most storied franchise in basketball? :sergio:

Dr. Buss died. But the Lakers were always run like this. A mom and pop shop, not a corporation with dedicated departments and clear chain of command/hierarchy. It's just the leader of the shop got transferred from Dr. Buss to his daughter and she is clueless.

But the strategy was always the same. Just sign superstar because we're Lakers lol. However, nowadays the NBA is much different.

Im not talking about all the noise, i couldnt care less about it. But this sheer incompetence and lack of advanced planning. How the fuck do you forget that you wont have cap space if you do this trade? You trade away and let walk half of your prospects from this 6 year rebuild to create that max slot, then you trade away the remaining half without realizing it will compromise that very max slot? Are they all smoking pot over there?

Well ya did you see all the signings they made last year? These guys are running the team like it's 1984. Meanwhile teams like the Rockets and Raptors have like a whole department just for salary cap matters.

Up until now i understood most of the moves with the end goal being 2 max slots (bar some questionable ones, like letting Brook walk who would have stayed for the minimum, stretching Deng so early, letting Zubac walk etc). But if they cant make it to the end goal, then what was all this nonsense about? You could have signed James without letting Russell go, without letting Randle and Zubac go. If they cant get the 2nd max FA, they failed in my mind. They messed up a great rebuild which the scouting department worked their asses off to make possible. Magic already stepped down, id expect the same from the rest in that case

I can't wait until we trade Kuzma and 3 first round picks starting in 2027 for 2 2nd round picks and cap space.

Because Lakers. I'm already prepared for it.

Or when Pelinka spends the 3.7 million dollar allotment for purchasing draft picks on ONE pick, when he can spend it on multiple.

That too.

I'm so stressed out about this that I ate a Twix bar.

I'm a diabetic.

The noise and incompetence are of the same seed. To me it looks like inexperience and naivety on the part of ownership and management.

I'm celebrating btw because Garland who is likely to be 6th pick (cuz atalanta at 4th or Cavs at 5th dont need a PG), is basically a young Damian Lillard.

BUT knowing our luck, Cavs will trade their 5th pick to someone that needs a PG and then we moved up for....? :(

Coby White is nice too for PG needs, but Garland is the hot sought after scoring PG of the draft.

I read they consider trading it away already, to get rid of Wiggins
